Should people be allowed to vote on Brexit type issues?

I find it interesting that left wingers who put all of their faith in the public school system run by the gobblement and democrat controlled unions doesn't think people are smart enough to vote their own interests. Oh some things are just TOO COMPLICATED. Seems like a tremendous indictment of the educational system if you ask me

The will of the people is typically expressed via legislative bodies in a functioning republican democracy. Rule of law and etc.

This places limitations on democracy. Notice I said 'functioning' republic. It's recently become fashionable for the executive to by-pass the legislative. If you want to search for limitations on the will of the people I'd start there.

More to the OP point, referendums have their place.

You're a prime example. People like you should never vote, for anything - much less an issue as complex as GB leaving the EU.

You shouldn't even vote in local elections, honestly.

maybe we should have a test for people here in the US, at which time they can get an ID to vote. no ID, no vote.
 
When there's something worth voting for- unlike the forthcoming US elections- everybody should have a vote. However, you can avoid a moronic outcome- such as the recent xenophobic BREXIT fiasco- by awarding more than one vote to people who merit it in terms of educational qualifications.
For example, if you're a drooling , over-fed low-brow who got on the voting register because you thought it was a betting slip then you only get one vote- which is the way it is now. Unfortunately, a practicing psychologist or a social sciences graduate also get only one vote .

gawd almighty. There are many times I look at the American electorate as easily being manipulated by 'bead and circus';
but the right to vote is a right to participate in self government. no matter how dumb one is.

I actually see your point when it comes to brexit type issues. Though I wholly disagree when it comes to representing people who will represent us.
 
You can't let people who believe in population control run society. They're fine if mass death occurs. They feel they've played God properly and hastened the forces of evolution. However they are evolving society in a hateful and inhuman direction. Thanks Luciferian globalist eugenicists.

There of course is the problem. Thing hearkens back to the literacy test, which I am sure Thing doesn't agree with. However, when it comes to voting for complex issues and not representatives, he might and that is a big might, have a point. That is why we vote for representatives afterall, right?
 
Actually those brainwashed by globalist college should not be allowed to vote. They've been made into little fascists by the royals, the bankers, and the ceos.
