Red Hen Owner Resigns In Disgrace From Local Org After Kicking Out Sarah

"The Red Hen has been closed since the controversial evening in which Sanders was given the boot. It’s supposed to reopen on July 5. If so, that would mean Wilkinson and Adams have gone nearly two weeks without any revenue at the Red Hen. Would Clayton be willing to cut them some slack on rent during the crisis?

“Oh, certainly,” said Clayton, who owns many properties in the area. “There’s a lot more to being a landlord than just collecting rent. . . . I’ve certainly looked after them, and that’s part of my responsibility as a landlord. They’ve come to me before, and I’ve told them, ‘If you ever need any additional help, come to me again.’ And if they do, then they’ll get it.”

And

"It is my understanding that once the restaurant reopens that there is a 3-week waiting list, which means that once they reopen the money will come flying in."

Good; because Mad Max says it's OK to harass (push against) the opposition , when they're eating, shopping, getting gas, etc.

This should be interesting. :D

Evidently not; because who ever goes out to eat, around July 4th?
[/sarcasm]

Well, your family is probably different (lolol), but in my family we spend holidays cooking/grilling and eating together at home.... especially on the Three High Holy Days of Summer BBQ -- Memorial Day, the Fourth, and Labor Day. If you aren't grilling and chilling with fam those days, you ain't Murican.

And back on ignore you go. Bye!

Isn't it a sad day in this country where someone who risks losing her business by taking a principled stand is seen as a horrible failure? Disclaimer: If the owner had asked Slanders to leave because of her religion, race, orientation, or gender I would agree with those angry at her. Instead, Ms. Wilkinson took a stand for herself and for her employees, some of whom belong to groups disparaged by TrumpCo.

I have a strong feeling that Toxic and the rest of her ilk attacking Red Hen would have been equally gleeful in attacking Patrick Henry or B. Franklin back in the 1770s.

I agree with everything above? Other than I would suggest we've seen these bad days before. In america these things are episodic; they come and go and rise again. Or at least they’ve been before. But yeah, I get your point, what’s I find sadder is the apathy. Oh there are blips of resistance here and there, but the corporate press suppresses this as much as possible. We’re kinda arrogant as a nation, we forget we just got here, we’re in that teenager stage where we deem the little we know to be wisdom.

But you know, power does what ever it is allowed. The people do have the power, which is why they have to be kept distracted and feeling powerless. We all know it isn't healthy, hell, look how angry this society is and how hard it resists reflection/introspection.

So all families have to be like YOUR family; but then, I never said that's what we do.

Is it safe to say that you are aware that there are single people, older people who only have each other, etc.

Can someone who Owl doesn't have on ignore, please quote this, so she can see how stupid she continues to look?
Thanks

Good points, but, is it really apathy or ambivalence??

Perhaps the "alternative" being offered up, for many, isn't much better~not worth the effort/nothing to get excited about..??

Guess they can't go to the Red Hen now.

So say you're some high school kid wait staff at the Red Hen and she comes in and orders what she wants.

How would you know what she really wanted, she says all kindsa shyte everyone knows is untrue. Maybe she wants what comes outta that mouth, maybe not.

How would you know? Who would have certainty that they would evade that double chinned floppy jowled scowl?

Don't worry, I was playing with the birds here and forgot to put you on ignore.

Yes, you are absolutely right -- there *are* many people who are single, don't want to cook, etc. who might go out to eat on a holiday. Even at Xmas there are still a few restaurants (in the Midwest, they are mostly Asian food) who remain open on Christmas and New Years. Fast food restaurants are always open as well during the summer holidays. But for an upscale place like the Lexington Red Hen? Makes sense to be closed. We live in what is pretty much a wilderness that has a few smallish cities; ours has a population of less than 30K ppl but we still have our own TV and radio stations, plus a university. The upscale restaurants like Red Hen close over the holidays, sometimes for 2-3 days. For instance we tried to get a reservation at the small German restaurant in town on the day before Memorial Day but were told that it would be closed for Sunday and Monday. Ditto for the other nice places.

Do you think now they wish they had just spit in her food like everyone else & let it go @ that???

If you mean partywise?

Pfffffffffffffffffffft, nah, that ain't no route to anything different in my opinion; the political system is designed to propagate this, it’s a positive feedback loop. We'll be bailing out the economic system again, just a matter of time. That'll be another huge transfer of wealth out of society. This all works for both parties. Or maybe you didn't mean parties.

The notion that we can't have a healthcare system like the rest of the advanced world? Nah, that's about money. Fuck, Bezos/Amazon is getting into pharma and health"care".

While I appreciate the time and effort you put into your reply, everything before and after "Yes, you are absolutely right" had very little to do with my first post and the reply you made to it.

:dealwithit:

The law is clear, and it is illegal to refuse service in a restaurant open to the public except in a very limited number of case, such as hygiene, dress code, or about to close.
This was a criminal act because it was deliberate harm, in violation of the law, and is like a lynching because there was no trial.

Read the law.

Oh I got each and everything correct sport. I don't give a flying fuck what you call yourself but if it walks, quacks, and looks like a duck it's a duck! Or in your case a fucking liberal. GET IT?

I am not a liberal, I am not a Democrat, I do not do "believing"...

...but since you walk, talk, and look like an asshole...I agree...YOU ARE AN ASSHOLE.

How did the feces thrower (singular) threaten her employees? Seriously?
She made a huge mistake. She knows it...You should accept it....No one will "forget" what she did...She knows that...

She made no mistake refusing to serve that lying bitch.

But...if you want to rejoice in the fact that she is still closed...do it.

I'm sure it must devastate her that you are.
