Odd isn't it. The world's self-obsessed flag ship democracy can't vomit up any "choice" other than those two utterly corrupted confidence artists.
Not really. It has played out the way it was supposed to play out. This is America's version of the Arab Spring. Europe has its own version going on. I wasn't a member here to have the posts to point to, but I called Trump as the President-Elect the week before super Tuesday at a site I used to frequent. It is classic loss-framing. You might even call it a political variant of the Peter Principle in so much as America wanted an incompetent POTUS over a shrewd one with whom they were disconnected. We have survived more bumbling administrations relatively unscathed than we have devious ones, at least at the street level. Sad part is that it isn't over yet. We will have at least 2 or 3 more elections before we can be rid of baby boomer ideologues and start to have more pragmatic leadership again here in the US. Europe--well its going to get a lot worse there before it gets better, but it will eventually get better.
