you moron. There you go with that antiquated triangulate policy again, did you happen to notice that it was recommended by Kissinger, who is or close to ninety and hasn't been a important figure in decades? It is 19th Century thinking that partially led to some of the worse disaster in the 20th Century.
And if anyone is being triangulated it is the US with Trump's "America first" whatever that is. We got Russia caught ignoring Trump's sanctions on North Korea and China opening up new trade agreements with Western democracies
Triangulation is anytime you split another alliance by common interests applied to either of the allied parties.
It happens all the time, not just superpowers.
Nixon triangulated against the USSR by 'ping pong diplomacy' with China.
It opened up US / China relations, which weakened China/USSR relations.
Kissinger was the first one to state the term (i think), but the practice is as old as nation states/diplomacy.
It's a dynamic -dynamics of relationships are eternal.
you could even triangulate on a personal level by befriending say 1 partner in a business relationship.
You weasel in good with 1 person, to try to split an existing friend/partner away from the other.
Your example makes no sense. You seriously do not under stand the dynamics at all.
