The FBI only conducts BACKGROUND CHECKS into SCOTUS nominees, nothing else.
Annnnnnnnnnd the FBI can only investigate their backgrounds from age 18 forward.
There will not be another (the 7th in his lifetime) background check on Kav.

If ordered, the FBI can most certainly investigate this allegation.

So that's a background check.

We're talking about an investigation into an alleged assault.

The FBI can definitely investigate this, if told to do so.

So all it takes is the GOP or Trump to order the FBI to investigate, and they will.

But they're choosing to not do that, while at the same time trying to hold a hearing, ostensibly to investigate the allegation.

Maybe Trump should order the FBI into investigating how Ford's letter was "released" and maybe into the meeting Bill had on the Tarmac, among others.

A background check is different from an investigation into a specific incident, or pattern of incidents.

Everyone knows why you don't want the FBI to investigate; Conservatives have a hard time telling the truth to the FBI and they don't want to end up like Gates, Manafort, Flynn, or Papadopolous.
