OK. Time to put up or shut up. I am going to post similar threads for various Senate races

First up is the Texas Senate seat.

Who do you think will win this race and why?

I believe that Cruz is going to win going away for the following reasons

1) He is now up over 50% in recent polling and has started pulling away
2) When you look at the turnout from the primaries even though democrat turnout was up, it was still dwarfed by republican turnout.

This one isn't even close.

What say you?

I mean even Rancid Rack doesn't think Beto can win. I bet she has volunteered for his campaign. Her tears are going to be especially delish come election day
 
Cruz is such an asshole that every other member of the Senate hates him and even Repubs muse about it. Lindsay Graham"If you killed Ted Cruz on the floor of the Senate, and the trial was in the Senate, nobody would convict you" He is a wortlhess human being and hated by all. He might win. That is revealing about Repubs isn't it?
Cruz is in a deep red state and still his election is questionable, Why anyone would vote for him is amazing. Cut him off and move on. Lyin' Ted's time has passed.

Doubt all you want, which is fine, but I spend a lot of time moving through this state, and from the Hill Country to the East Texas pineys, Orange and Beaumont, the heartland is going to vote big for that prick.

Not happy, but I don't shut my eyes either. fivethirtyeight.com noted the summer polls at the end of August. And the % keeps growing for Cruz every week now.

It tells you how bad his opponent must be---one of those rich guys who pretend to be one of "the people" whose name is Robert but goes by Beto to make him sound Hispanic.

Beto sounds Hispanic? How. It is what he was called from childhood. Guess he had it all planned from a young age.
Of course Ted Cruz ia actually Raphael. He did that to sound less Hispanic.

Yeah, Cruz wants to sound more Anglo and O'Rourke more Hispanic. Beto is a nickname for Roberto, Alberto, Humberto.

Who are "you guys" that are really nuts?

I agree. It will be hard for any Democrat to win any state-wide vote in Texas (including the AG who has been indicted). But Democrats carry the four largest counties (Harris, Dallas, Bexar, and Travis). I live in Orange.
 
I don't see a state-wide Dem win in an office until maybe 2024, but, yet, the four big counties are Democratic. They more those populations grow at the expense of the Red rural counties, the state will go Blue again.
