Agreed. And the "jurisdiction" referred to in the Constitution applied to foreign diplomats stationed in the U. S. Any such action by Trump is probably unconstitutional. Even the early naturalization laws (before the 14th amendment) made citizens of those born in the U. S.

It means if you are in the US on a visa (any kind of visa) or in the US illegally, you are under US jurisdiction and subject to US law... no matter what your allegiances are. Learn to read and you'll be light years ahead of Trump.

If SCOTUS allows Trump to do this, I guarantee you the next Liberal President will change the 2nd amendment to ban whichever guns he so desires.
The United States did not limit immigration in 1868 when the Fourteenth Amendment was ratified.
Thus there were, by definition, no illegal immigrants and the issue of citizenship for children of those here in violation of the law was nonexistent.
Granting of automatic citizenship to children of illegal alien mothers is a recent and totally inadvertent and unforeseen result of the amendment and the Reconstructionist period in which it was ratified.

Yours may not have but mine naturalized as quickly as they could under the laws at the time.
Learn the intent of the 14th. I was not to give citizenship to someone because a family member broke the law coming here and doffed them off.

You had no problem with Obama's EO. Trump wouldn't be changing the Constitution. He would be overturning current legislative law that goes against the intent of the 14th amendment when it was written.
