The truth is, if I got upset with Obama from doing that I would have already been upset that George Bush ran the debt up to 10 Trillion before Obama ever got there. Now why wouldn't I be upset with him?

Because, having all that said, all a president can do is sign the bill or veto it by refusing to sign it.

Because the legislative branches have to agree on a bill first or have a 60% majority vote to push the bill forward for the executive approval.

So, what always happens, is Congress will force a president's hand to either sign the Bill or be the one responsible, at that point, that gets blamed for shutting the government down.

So, in my opinion, based on that, I can hardly put the blame on the executive branch for just trying to keep the lights on by signing the Bill.

So when a bill that comes out of Congress, with a new budget, that requires the debt ceiling rise, who are you going to blame- the president?

Sounds like you are someone who likes to point fingers at the wrong people because you don't fully understand the powers of the governmental branches.

Clinton did that, though. And it was so damaging to Conservative principles that they eliminated the surplus used to reduce public debt by passing tax cuts because, at the time, they said "surpluses mean we're being overtaxed".

So square that circle; Conservatives screech about debt, yet erase a budget surplus that can be used to pay down the debt they screech about, while saying "surpluses mean you're being overtaxed" at the same time.

Everyone should have known then that the Conservative Movement was just a collection of frauds and yokels.

Under Clinton, there was never a significant surplus. Clinton's budget also benefited from dot-com gold rush hysteria. But, there's still a lesson, the balance sheet does best with a Republican congress and a Democrat president. The reverse is the worst for deficits.

Republicans have never elected a conservative in my lifetime. Reagan, Bush I and II, and Trump are all proud big government spenders (but, Trump is the least offensive of them). You're not a conservative if you want tot throw hundreds of billions of more dollars at already bloated government programs, including the military.

It benefited from higher income taxes passed in 1993. Income taxes Conservatives predicted would lead to a recession, market collapse, and massive deficits.

Of course, none of what Conservatives predicted came to pass.

People forget that in 1999, Republicans passed a tax cut that would have erased the nascent surpluses and produced record deficits had Clinton not vetoed it.

Those tax cuts would eventually pass in 2001 and were the Bush Tax Cuts.

You failed to mention that monthly earnings increased 3.1% from the prior year and was the first time in the current economic expansion that the figure has crossed the 3% mark (CBS news).

You forgot to mention (New York Times) that based on figures collected from left wing Center for Economic and Policy Research tracking blue collar jobs found manufacturing, construction, mining and logging sectors have added jobs every month for more than a year. These are the industries that prop up the middle class with higher wages and benefits particularly workers without a college degree.

You forgot to mention we have a services surplus of 22.6 billion.

The goods deficit in October 2018 is 78.1 billion.
Obviously we import more than we export. Other countries place tariffs on our goods making similar products in exporting countries cheaper.
Trump is trying to change that so the playing field with other countries is level.

You forgot to mention that a factor in the higher deficit is a stronger dollar which makes imports cheaper and exports more expensive.

The economy is a little more complicated than idiotic statements like Trump caused deficits and caused a drop in the Dow.

Ocasio-Cortez should have gone to class because she hasn’t learned a fuckin thing about economics. She never used her economics degree in the real world and it shows by her stupidity.

But once that teabag Congress was unable to prevent a second Obama term, and was unable to pass any significant legislation, you took the teabags off and put a red hat on and went all MAGAt, saying that the teabags you supported weren't true Conservatives (whatever that means) either, and that's why you had to go MAGAt. And once Trump is removed, you'll do it again. Over and over and over.
