Republican senators in disbelief over Trump shutdown threat

Doubling down on your ignorance I see

Good for you

Okay...let's see your arguments for where I am wrong on this, IHA.

C'mon, if you dare.

Wonder who will die first? You or Ginsberg

Can't help you there. She and I are both old...and death is inevitable. Right now I seem to be in much better shape, but she never ceases to amaze people with her stamina and determination.

Oh, I forgot to add:

You are a first-class scum bag for posting that kind of shit.

But we all knew that!

how do you figure that, is your math education from CNNU too :rofl2:

The American people, the majority of the American people according to our election process want the wall.
Democrats , actually 49 people want to override the will of millions, sounds like the Democrats have a problem.

If the Democrats want to shut the government down because 49 disgruntled malcontents cant have their way, then let them do that.

Trump is like an artist

According to election results the majority of the American people do not want the wall, nut-bag.

As long as there are 60 votes required to get cloture, the minority always has control in the Senate. Surely you knew that Frankie. And surely you know the GOP doesn’t have 60 votes

Now to be fair, as long as loser fuck sticks like Flake, Corker, Murkowski and Collins are around GOP Failure Theatre will continue. The first two are leaving. The last two will hopefully get ovarian cancer and die

Actually, the minority NEVER has control of the Senate, IHA. You should be able to grasp that BEFORE entering a discussion like this.

At best, the 60 votes to get cloture...can prevent the MAJORITY from having total control.

Fact is, though, the nuclear option can EASILY be used to prevent any need to obtain 60 votes for cloture. Surely you knew that, IHA.

I know I've mentioned this before, but it never hurts to repeat something like this:

You are scum...one of the scumiest in a forum filled with lots of scum. You regularly engage in talk that is beyond reason. I'm sorry your life is so fucked up that it is necessary for you to proclaim your misery in public...but that is something you can change...and I hope you eventually do.

I agree that they could eliminate the filibuster. But they won’t.

Look I like the shut down. I am good with it

I doubt they will, too.

Like it...hate it. It is your choice, IHA.

My disagreement with what you said was not about whether the shut-down is good or bad or neutral.

You made a claim that the minority had control of the Senate.

They don't.

Several GOP senators said that even if the House passed additional funding for border security, it could not pass the Senate, where votes are needed from Democrats to advance it.
"No, he won't have 60 votes over here," said Sen. Mike Enzi, a Wyoming Republican who's the chairman of the Budget Committee.
Even though it won't pass the Senate, House GOP members have calculated that they'd rather attempt to pass a short-term spending bill with $5 billion for a wall to be on the right side of the President.

In disbelief enough to do something?

Asshole...Chuck Schumer has no control over what is brought to the floor of the Senate. He cannot in an way whatsoever stop Mitch McConnell from bringing any legislation to the floor...AND IF MITCH MCCONNELL REFUSES TO BRING A BILL TO THE FLOOR...THERE IS NOT ONE GODDAM THING CHUCK SCHUMER CAN DO TO GET THE BILL THERE.

Wake the fuck up, IHA.

WAKE THE FUCK UP.

Partisanshitheads are what is wrong with america, and the aristocracy foments it.

I doubt they will, too.

They do under the rules

BTW

Did you remember to tell your spawn to come and tell me when you croak so I can dance?

turns out with the government shutdown, I still survived day 1.

A day without the feds, nothing changed. Huh. weird. Almost like we dont' really need them. (at least, the makers don't).

We don't even do shutdowns, "partial" shutdown? As in halfass? What commitment.

Here is a fairly good link about it: https://www.thebalance.com/government-shutdown-3305683

They are furloughing 400,000 non critical, non essential personnel (their description, not mine). The obvious question to me becomes why are we paying so many people that are not needed?

Trump said he would be proud to shut down the government over border security. "I will take the mantle. I will be the one to shut it down. I'm not going to blame you for it." President Trump said in the oval office to minority Leader Charles Schumer (D-NY) 18/12/11 with Speaker Pelosi and VP Pence witness.

I don't understand why the GOP Senators never force the Dems to maintain a filibuster. Sure, it's Christmas this time, but, I question whether Dems could truly hold the floor for 72 hours without wanting to quit.
