Hundreds of thousands of Canadians attended marches across the country to urge government and corporate leaders to address climate change.

The grassroots groups behind the Canadian marches have specific demands, including refusing any new oil and gas projects and cutting emissions to be just one quarter of what they were in 2005 by 2030.

"As a collective of young people from across the country, we aim to steer Canadian society off our current path of ecological and social catastrophe," says the mandate of Climate Strike Canada, one of the groups spearheading the marches. "Drastic climate action is the only option for humanity."

Greta Thunberg, the 16-year-old Swedish activist who has helped spur the global climate protest movement, ​​​​appeared in Montreal and encouraged thousands of Canadians to take to the streets today.

"The strikes have been very successful today," Thunberg said in Montreal.

"It is a very good day, I will say."

The kid is amazing. Leading AGW cultists around like that. It is a shame that the brainwashing on her by the cult has led to so much fear in a child. But I do admire her calling out the cult leaders for their hypocrisy and for taking over the cult. If she wasn't so ill-informed, it would be even better.

But for now we will watch as the cultists are led around by a child.

No matter, an open discussion thread has been created where all people can voice their opinions on the matter.

I personally do not bash Greta one bit. I realize that she is a pawn being used by her parents, the media, Warmizombies, etc... I, if anything, actually feel quite bad for her since this experience is not at all good for her mental health.

Now, her message that she is mindlessly spewing per the holy scriptures that are being handed to her?? I will definitely keep bashing that down to the completely irrational logic denying, science denying, mathematics denying fear that it is...

Bad ancestors: does the climate crisis violate the rights of those yet to be born?

What if climate breakdown is a violation of the rights of those yet to be born? Finally, this urgent question seems to be getting the attention it deserves. Last month an astonishing 7 million people from nearly 200 countries took to the streets as part of the youth-led global climate strike. Young people around the world recognise that the disastrous repercussions of the already present ecological crisis will fall disproportionately on their shoulders, and the shoulders of generations to come – in particular on those whose communities have emitted the smallest proportion of greenhouse gasses.

I thought the unborn didn't have any rights, since they are merely a "lump of cells", remember??

So, if the unborn now have a 'right to life' with regard to "climate crisis", then I assume that you're also going to immediately stop murdering the unborn for sake of personal convenience because of that same 'right to life', is that correct??

One sure has a reprobate mind if one believes that a 'yet-to-exist' child has a 'right to life', yet an existing child (inside of its mother's womb) somehow does not have that same 'right to life'... Strange people...
