White libs - will HARVARD & YALE be free for everyone if Bernard wins 2020???

Bigdog

Harris - make America a 3rd world shithole
How will this free college for all work? Colleges are already full. Will Bernard build a shitload of new colleges to hold the impending tsunami of Free students?

Will Bernard make Harvard and Yale FREE for everyone? :dunno:

Seems the "big chiwawa" doesn't know the difference between public and private schools

Better question. Will everyone who paid, be given their money back? Seems only fair.

It's definitely possible I missed it but I haven't seen Sanders or Warren talk about making private Universities free. I always thought they were referring to public ones.

I would phrase the question as one of capacity. I don't know that all our Universities are full now but if hypothetically hundreds of thousands of kids who previously would not have gone to school decide to go now because it's free is there room in our existing infrastructure? The answer to me is you build new schools. Then would the states or federal government be responsible for paying for it?

They are talking about public schools, think of the current local community college model, and expand it to four year institutions, which would also include trade schools and vocational learning. It doesn't happen in one year, a sudden transformation, but is transitioned in, and see a tsunami of students suddenly overbearing existing institutions. USC will be saved, although I don't see it bailing out it's improbability of ever playing for a National Championship

So free gubmint education for the peasants, ... and private education for the rich white libs.

Because that White Lib system has worked so well in our K-12 gubminet schools. :palm:

What amazes me is that BigBitch thinks that American getting educated is a bad thing. Wow, there will be a "tsunami" of smart kids getting educated, how horrible. We might become too prosperous.

Public education has worked very well in giving millions of Americans an opportunity to succeed. If you don't like it, move to Somalia, or somewhere else that you don't have to deal with government.

When I was young our educational system was the envy of the world. The rich saw education as a way to make money. In order to do that, they had to destroy it first. Then they did it, being careful to allow wealthier neighborhoods to still get a good education. As usual, rightys run off with what they are talking about.. Don't look down to see what went wrong. look up and see the wealthy making money off everything we used to do well. Healthcare is another example. We are an oligopoly now headed for a plutocracy.

When you were young our education system was almost completely segregated. When you were young many women couldn’t get jobs in corporate America so many of best and brightest women went into teaching. Neither of those are the case today (though schools do remain somewhat highly segregated). Is that what we should go back to?
