I'm not saying automation is a bad thing, quite the opposite. I think it's great that technology is making life easier. However, we need to accept the reality that this will cause more and more unemployment.

In India, they have people who pickup human feces for almost nothing. I guess the toilet has put those people out of business in the West, and forced them to get much better paying jobs.

Who cares whether or not they choose to work as long as the taxpayers aren't forced to offset that choice by funding food, clothing, shelter, healthcare, or anything else along those lines.
