If it’s equivalent to Flu, why?

No shit, u are a rocket scientist

Check out what another JPP liberal said when there was a pandemic while Obama was in office:

IMHO, it's just the latest phase in the unholy alliance between the FDA and pharmaceutical industry. When I saw that chick from the WHO declare a pandemic (and if she didn't, I'll take it back), I practically lept from my chair!

The worldwide death toll from this particular strain wasn't even enough to rate a percentage point as to how many people DIE annually in the USA from flu viruses that have been with us ever since I can remember.

Interesting that time tested cures and remedies have to wait YEARS before the FDA decides that they can market with declarations of they cure.....while suddenly VACCINES are being rushed through for the N1H1....a flu viruse that compared to others is NOT even exceptionally lethal.

As the old saying goes, follow the money!

The comparisons are made on this board all the time. learn too read.
The fear of Corona is because scientists are waiting for the next big pandemic. We get them regularly, but they usually are contained enough to keep from harkening back to 1918. But it is coming. Is Coronavirus the big one? We do not know yet. These viruses adapt. We are still watching closely. This could be a big one.

Check my math but I think that’s like a 14% mortality rate!

If that were the true rate, I would be scared of it!
Wait for the case rate to shoot up when we get the ability to test more people. IF we have thousands of cases and only 20-30 deaths then the death rate is much lower than your math indicates.

Yes, I agree. The mortality rate is more like 1-3%.

The problem is this is a new virus so people have not built up any immunity. That means it could be far more virulent than normal. We have no solid data because Trump sat on the test kits. Everyone is speculating. We will have info once sick people present to docs with symptoms.

Trump sat on the test kits? Do you have verification of this?

The righty media is trying to defend Trump's confusion on this issue of testing kits

Cruz is right to stay home.

Hopefully, the CV is not going to hurt the US much health wise, but economically it is causing a recession.

Futures and oil are way down.

Yes, we know... you believe that this is the president's fault... What do you suggest? What does the "lefty media" suggest?

I'd be interesting in the data on the test sitting as well....TIA:)

Until last week, only labs that were approved by the CDC could administer tests for the coronavirus, but the CDC opened new testing facilities for people potentially infected with the virus after an outcry from state and local governments.

While the government is touting the capacity for testing, the actual numbers are falling far short of official claims, according to a report in The Atlantic.

The report claims that only 1,895 people have been tested for the coronavirus in the U.S., and about 10% of the people tested have contracted the disease. Even with the new tests available to states and local governments, the capacity only allows for several thousand tests to be conducted — not the tens of thousands the White House has hoped for, according to the report.
