I just don't foresee a civil war happening nothing in our culture is signifying a civil war. The extremists we have are completely against the Zeitgeist of America and they're mostly losers. We have these communist lunatics that have been around probably since the early 1900s in this matter less now than they ever have before. I tend to agree, on the other hand the US civil war had a fundamental enduring cause (slavery) and an immediate cause (a shooting in Charleston SC).
The immediate cause can always be provided. Will it "take?" I agree with you. Petty resentments of the rural, do they run as deep as they did then? Nope. They have no real beef

It appears to me the fissures or cracks run along rural versus urban generating the rural anger, and the haves versus the have nots generating the REAL problem.
