May I add that a quick grocery store run would be considered essential but a day at the beach not so much.
Go mingle in crowds, Stretch. You cannot be harmed by the virus. Get a bunch of people together...and have some parties. Do it in a Volkswagen if you can.

At the beach, tiny particles in the air have ventilation and the winds pull them away. Grocery stores are far, far more likely to infect someone with Covid. The aerosolized germs can hang in the air for hours.
Masks are not needed outside, especially at the beach. The whole thing is absurd. This truly is common sense.
As a recommendation, yes. As a law, no.
I may go to the beach this afternoon, only 15 minutes away.Great! No one is stopping you. If you are, then you need to move out of whatever shithole you are living.
I was addressing the post which compared the two outings.
I may go to the beach this afternoon, only 15 minutes away.
But you couldn't pay me to set foot in a grocery store, i.e., Covid mecca.
And that is why NY has 250,000 cases and Florida, 25,000.people in New York object to Jacksonville opening beaches and spreading the virus......

I was clarifying the point there there's a difference between common sense and making something illegal be it drugs, wearing seat-belts or going to the beach on a weekend in June.
And that is why NY has 250,000 cases and Florida, 25,000.
My mistake for posting the picture direct from a link but without the date. It was a stock photo. https://www.wtae.com/article/some-beaches-in-florida-are-reopening-after-governor-gives-ok/32192992#
To address your points, none of that matters since people will not constantly maintain six feet of distance from each other....especially kids. They'll have chance close encounters at the trash, in the porta-potty line, up the stairs off the beach, parking lot, etc.
Again, I support their freedom to do so but I think it's an unnecessary risk for someone my age (mid-60s).
OTOH, when all the young become infected with the sniffles and pass it along to their parents and grandparents, it's a 50/50 chance they'll collect their inheritance sooner rather than later. So, win for some, loss for others. Life goes on.
Speak for yourself. That concrete shithole doesn't finance the state I live in.Is the photo dated by any chance? And how many of those people are going to work as opposed to a joy ride? Does that look like a joy ride or rush hour? And isn't nice they New Yorkers work to pay all those federal taxes to help support the red welfare states? What's the damn date of the photo?
There are no bathrooms on that beach.Hello Dutch Uncle,
Gotta wonder if they've got the bathrooms open there at the beach.
That would not be a good place to stay safe.
First, ignorant moron, there is a vaccine for flu.
Second, we know a lot about seasonal flu. How easily or difficult it is to transmit, the beginning and end of the season, etc. None of which applies to this other than it is about twice as contagious as the flu.
Third, dumbfuck, people are so used to seasonal flu that they go to restaurants, school, work, concerts, church, sporting events, and other places in close proximity to others. That’s why the numbers are as high as they are. We now have 40,000 deaths in less than 2 months WITH quarantines and isolation.
I don’t quarantine during flu season, idiot. I vaccinate. If I do get sick. I stay away from others.

False and ignorant equivalency
Who mentioned anything being made illegal? Not to say that those drastic measures should not be implemented if some a-holes refuse to stop spreading an infection but that was not what I was pointing out.
