Why Are the Highly Educated So Liberal?

faulty premise

failed thread

VERY faulty premise, assumes these "highly educated" libtards have an advanced education that's worth a damn. A few examples:

1) The "highly educated" virologists at the wuhan virus lab, working for the fucking chinese COMMUNIST government on weapons that kill millions

2) Radical islamists who study the koran for decades and conclude that God wants them to eradicate Jews and Christians are considered to be "highly educated" and many times will be chosen as leaders of their shithole countries

3) Worst of all, American college students(and graduates), who spend hundreds of thousands of their parent's dollars on degrees in underwater basket weaving, while protesting conservative positions, speakers and office holders, and wonder why the fuck no one in corporate America(which they hate)will hire them

Are these the "highly educated" people mcslobber is talking about?

Yes ... I was indoctrinated into civil engineering at a major university.

But I survived and even made a living from it.

We were talking about critical thinking ... you sure wander around a lot.

One of my dumbest roomates happened to be a civil engineer. He thought french fries were made of bread.
He couldn't tell you who participated in WW2 with any degree of certainty. He was girl candy though, so I kept him around
as a bird dog.

Mr. Owl has a masters in "STEM" yet is not conservative. Same is true of my son (masters in engineering) and daughter-in-law (BS in engineering, masters in business). I can only think of one highly-educated conservative in our extended family, and his masters is in history.

Blanket statements don't work so well a lot of times.

Is your extended family generally more liberal?

Earl, I know what he said, but I have got some serious doubts about his credentials.

Faulty premise. I'm very conservative and I'm without a question one of the most highly educated members of this board. BS biology , BSN, MSN, Medical Degree, 4 years residency, 1 year Fellowship Pain Management.

There are other Doctors on this board I don't think any of them are Liberals.

Were you very conservative before all that education?

Data ... what a crock ... you can compile data to support anything you believe ... the NYT are experts at this.

Book lern' and common sense lern' are two very different things.

Sam Clemmons lies lies and stats. Your STEM brethren who have advanced degrees in the most difficult field of mathematics (statistics) probably don't appreciate you diminishing them.
Anywho, hand waving dismissal isn't an argument I'm afraid. Until you have better data, then I have all the evidence, and so win the case.
Why are advanced degree recipients liberal? You have a theory, but if you have no facts, it's nothing. It's just your prejudice by definition.

The OP says highly ed more liberal, (not more intelligent, although thats arguably not much of a stretch) the data supports that. Hell, your party even has made a cottage industry decrying the fact, but they don't say it's not a fact.

Anecdotal BS. #lyinghack

I am amused that you think your smart being a Marxist at heart. :palm:

So you should not have learned engineering at a university? Why waste your time?

Because it interested me ... and I made a good living from it ... the only way to get a degree for some disciplines from an accredited university is to actually attend their school.

Some disciplines can be done online but for medical or engineering degrees you have to show up ... even some arts disciplines require physical attendance.

So yeah, being indoctrinated in CE turned out to be a good thing for me ... now I'm doing something I've always wanted to do.

I misunderstood you, then. You are praising universities for indoctrinating students.
