I worked 35+ years with scientists of all levels of education, from their BS to PhDs. Chemists, biologists, virologists, geneticists, engineers, geologists, etc. In forensics, in environmental protection, in public health, in academia. In all of those years, nary a one was a conservative. Even in a very conservative state.

Since my retirement from that career, I have worked in retail. Most possess limited education. Even some college is unusual. Not surprisingly, those people have been much more conservative, bigoted, Trumpers. They tend to lack any knowledge of history. Poor math skills. Limited vocabulary . Atrocious spelling. On and on.

They are almost useless for making a living and you can get the same knowledge going to the library and reading books.
