Liberals versus Flat Screen TVs

your right on this one, turbo-limosine-liberals gone wild.
Just one of these false outrage fuckers flying somewhere uses exponesitially more than this low income worker in the picture with his flatscreen

Flat screen TV are energy hogs. The big plasma ones can draw many times the current of a conventional CRT TV.

In CA I think I read TV's account for nearly 10% of home electrical use.
Buy energy star electronics :clink:

if CO2 really mattered, it might have an effect.

Might as well pray to the flying spaghetti monster to change the climate. I bet you could show a compelling correlation!

Remeber, all this rests on science that's falling apart.

if this is the worst the left does vs killing millions of innocent arabs by the right I can stomach it.

Maybe Socal will have a brownout on Stuporbowl Sunday because of all the power hogging big screens?

that would be cool!

I'm perturbed about the flat screens anyway. My regular TV won't work without a $50 box for an upgrade after February. Besides that, when I do have to replace my old dinosaur I'll have to modify my enternainment center. I do dislike change......like this anyway.

The change in Feb is not about flatscreens, its about a digital signal.

Get your 2 free $40 coupons for converter boxes.

If you like football you MUST have min 40 in plasma/lcd trust me on this one.

For USC that would not work for you watching lifetime network

Yeah, I know but I lump it all into the same category. Not really upset about the converter boxes but am upset about change in the physical configuration of the TV so that my entertainment center has become obsolete.

No, it hasn't become obsolete. It has become roomier.

Think of it as extra space behind your tv. Or enjoy the fact that you can now adjust your tv to sit at an angle in the same space. That way you can see it better from one side or do this to get rid of glare from a window.

The hole for the TV in my entertainment center (actually it is my wife's and I vowed never to move it again as it is elaborate and huge and very heavy) is just big enough for a 27" television. A flat screen that will fit into that same space will be very small by comparison. I'll just gripe for a while and when the TV goes out I'll make the necessary adjustments and pay the higher price for a replacement. But I have to gripe about it. :)

I got a Dynex 42" 1080p energy star LCD.

Fine for watching Lifetime on if that is your gig. Yes I do rate football about the same as the lifetime network. :(

Actually this was my second widescreen. for my bedroom and pretty cheap @ $700 plus tax.
