Lockdowns and Mask Mandates Do Not Lead to Reduced COVID Transmission

Well, well lol.

Epidemics follow a natural curve. Virus gonna virus till it’s done virus-ing.

I wonder if this study will touted by the media?

THEY LEAD TO A COLLAPSED ECONOMY AND MASSIVE, NONSTOP LIES ABOUT THE ACTUAL NUMBER OF COVID DEATHS....6% OF WHAT WE HAVE BEEN TOLD...

Trump supporters are totally nuts.

They sure as fuck do. We are way down even though we have been having a tourist tsunami. Before the masks when the tourist wave started we were getting slammed. You mask babies are bemusing glorified children if nothing else. It's so gratifying to see you babies having to suck it up and wear your mask. Most people have a little celebration inner monologue when the crying baby is pacified.

You’re anti-science lol?

Why this science is BLASPHEMY!

This was never about medicine. It was always about politics. Harm Trump’s economy

'
They already know it doesn't work. They are doing it to destroy the economy and hurt Trump. Democrats are the party of murdering babies and infanticide. Do you think they care about destroying jobs? Hell no.

This study provides strong statistical support for what so many have been observing for six months. The epidemic has a natural tendency to spread quickly at first and slow down, seemingly on its own, a point made not only here but as early as April 14 by Isaac Ben-Israel. Meanwhile governors imagine that very specific rules for opening bars and restaurants are the key to containment.

Governments have conducted an unprecedented social, economic, and political experiment in controlling whole populations’ behavior, with high economic and human cost. The authors ask the right question: has this experiment in government-managed virus control and suppression made a difference? The startling answer they found, after examining data from around the country and the world, is that the evidence simply is not there.

If we are concerned about the evidence on this global experiment, we must concede that most government authorities have likely acted in error. [from OP link]

Well, isn’t that just dandy.

We just instituted the single most destructive policy ever initiated in this country’s history for the sake of an *experiment* that shows no measurable effect on the outcome.

Remember: Trump wanted to open on April 12th but was shouted down for it. This study suggests we could have and should have—because nothing would have changed.

It was a natural phenomenon that would have declined on its own. It was all done for nothing.

Outraged yet?

Why do you ignore the studies that conclude there would have been hundreds of thousands more dead if we had not shut down?

Is Trump lying when he claims that?

You’ve asked that several times now lol.

What do you think? What kind of confidence did you/do you have in the model projections that predicted outlandish death tolls? If the models were correct, then Trump isn’t lying.

If the models were junk you both were deceived.

At any rate, what do you think of this study? It’s garbage because it turns out Trump wasn’t all that [if at all] culpable for mishandling it? It sure seems to suggest his instincts in April were right.

So, it has to be garbage.

Trump has bragged about the lives he saved w/ the shutdowns. He just did in his speech the other night.

Either he was wrong, or wasn't. If shutdowns were wrong, he's "culpable."

I'd like to see some backup for this study. Isn't it logical that when a local population sees a higher rate of spread, that local population responds by taking more precautions?

I’m less interested in Trump than you are.

This was a massive study—global study, in fact. You don’t think it’s kind of important that we know whether the cure was worse than the disease? Because if that’s the case, it was an historical cluster F.

The conclusions are demonstrably false.

See: Florida.

Your study is bullshit.

"Once a region reaches 25 total COVID deaths, within a month the growth rate in deaths per day falls to approximately zero. In other words, no matter the country or state and its policies, deaths per day stop increasing within 20-30 days of passing a threshold of 25 deaths.

False.

Let's have some fun with the utter BS that you posted.

Florida reached 25 deaths per day on April 6th. And just as the study suggested, the rate of deaths first increased by zero on May 9th. DURING THE LOCKDOWN. The second the lockdown was lifted.... BOOM, deaths skyrocketed. Conclusion, your study is 100% wrong. Completely worthless. Much like you are.

And the study is wrong. Period. Full stop. Utter bullshit. It's like posting a study that says 2+2 = 5.
