Obama's Speech

Jeez...

The American people elected Obama, who ran on the same platform that he is governing on so far.

Oh - and that platform isn't "Socialist." Stop listening to talk radio.

go tell someone else what to do jack off..
I was asking a question of people who believe in Socialism..

Gore was not Bush, as Nader claimed, and neither is Obama. I don't want to say "I told you so," but all of the discussions I have had since his election trying to say nothing more than "let's wait & see how he governs" come back to me very vividly now (looking in your direction, BAC).

This budget is the most progressive action, on this scale, that I have seen in my lifetime. It represents a completely radical shift in our national priorities, to heathcare, education, the environment, energy, working Americans, et al. It is everything Obama talked about in his campaign.

And I believe it will ultimately show that progressive action & fiscal responsibility are not mutually exclusive. When you invest in education, it pays you back. When you put money into updating & reforming healthcare, it pays back. When you invest in alternative technology....well, you get the picture.

:)

I agree with you on this being a very progressive budget and I agree that you certainly have reason to say "I told you so", especially to me. It's a good beginning.

But there are two things to consider.

First, as I've said before, I hope I was wrong about him. And though the real truth of that is yet to be determined, he's earned respect and the time it takes to see his vision through. I'm glad you're smiling brother. Really, I am.

Secondly, this does not suggest that all I've said isn't true or has yet to be revealed. There are areas of concern. However, I acknowledge your right to give me one of these .. :pke:

.. and I'll save my critque for another day. :)

Why don't all of you Socialist who love it so much, move to a country that is Socialist? what makes you think the American people want to live under a Socialist system, and what gives you the right to push it on the American people?
The American people voted for a socialist. Hopefully, the Democrats will turn us full bore into a socialist country quickly, so much so that the voters will be shocked into reality, and the pendulum can swing back fast and hard to where it belongs. The pendulum may need a sharp edge this time.

not bitter, just tired of you and your uppity nose in the air responses to people who don't think like you..

It's not so much that you don't think like me; it's that you're wrong. First, no one is "pushing" anything on the American people. Obama was elected on an agenda, which he is implementing. That's called "democracy," and elections have consequences.

Second, you don't know what Socialism is, if you think this is it.

See, there you go again..
go away and bug someone who is more on your level..you know those people who are as intelligent as you seem to think you are...I won't miss ya..

Do you ever have anything real to say?

I'm glad you respect what he's done here, and are staying open about it. I agree it's only a beginning, and hope that this budget doesn't change too much between now & when it is passed. I also hope it reflects priorities that will stay in the forefront throughout his term.

WHY don't you get rid of you KKK sheet and get a real high school deploma:cof1:

I think its you who need to move , the elections have spoken.

Ahh, the mind of a conservative.

A pleasant interlude from the seriousness of the moment.

Don't look now but Obama is wildly popular.

Who told you to could speak for the American people?

Why don't you move to a country where socialism doesn't exist, because it's here now, been here for a great many years, AND my paranoid friend, it's growing here everyday.

Move to a country where the majority of the people don't want nationalized healthcare .. the majority of Americans want it .. why don't you move?

I don't care what you call it, but we've essentially nationalized the banks and many of the best economists and money manager believes we should .. many of them conservatives .. why don't you move?

Social Security, Medicare/Medicaid and virtually anything that begins with "Public" .. don't like it .. why don't you move?

And guess what, the demographics of that "American people" you alluded to is rapidly changing, thus less conservative, thus more open to the concept of democratic socialism .. AND, the BEAUTY of all that is that society comes to socialism, not the other way around.

... sweet.

nazi loving skin head who use the word socialism look dumber than Jindal did the other night and that's not easy.

you win an election by a small margin and you think the majority of the American people want Socialism...after a Democrat President the American people always go back and elect a Republican...sure they want Socialism

You and I are on the same side of the fence brother. I appreciate your fire and passion for this country. I appreciate your intelligence and perspective.

We can spar and beat each other up a bit, but at the end of the day, we'll still be on the same side of the fence, still on the same team.
