No fraud huh?

I do recall that thread. What is DP?

Yeah, it was Mason who posted the link to JPP on Amazon a few days before it folded. He had found this place and told me and Jade about it first, then posted it on Amazon. It's possible someone else did too.

DP is Debate Politics.
I didn't see either of their posts about JPP. Do you recall we went to the Amazon UK site just after the "American" Amazon forum was shut down?

Poor pEarl. He's going to hurt himself with all these groans this morning. lol

Agree with you regarding mental illness. My cousin gave up her life to take care of her brother who has schizophrenia. Last year she was finally able to convince him to move into an assisted living facility because she could no longer handle his physical illnesses (cancer, diabetes). He is 72. She is 69 and finally got her life back. If she hadn't provided him with a home, food, etc. he would have been either on the streets or in a prison. We can do better than this. We MUST do better than this.

Captain Earl is sick. The "groans" make him feel like he's actually contributing something other than just sucking up air, eating and shitting into a bag. Yes, it's annoying, but I keep reminding myself he's sick and I should be more compassionate to a fellow vet.

Your cousin was noble hearted to care for her brother, but it goes to show how lacking our nation is in a support system for such things. My wife did much the same for her brother who became schizophrenic in his 30s, although I'm guessing there were signs in his 20s. He's in his late 50s and currently in a state facility, which is great but it took years to get him the help he needed.

Adam Lanza's mother is a classic case of a mother trying to help her mental disabled son and floundering. In the end, that lack of a support system cost Nancy Lanza her life, the lives of 26 innocents and Adam himself. Mass shootings are rare and become public spectacles. Suicides are largely ignored unless it's someone famous like Robin Williams. Currently, Americans are committing suicide at a rate of 5 per day, mostly due to depression. Eleven times that many attempt self-harm every day. If a JPP member, who tend to be both elderly and mentally "off", suddenly disappears, suicide would be a good guess as to why they are gone.

I'm still a member of DP but rarely visit. It's a good forum but too citified for my tastes. I like the Wild West nature of JPP. There are several good political forums these days. Each are a little different, but JPP is much more unique in comparison.

So am I. I like the military forum at DP, but like you it is a little to milk toast for my tastes.

Yeah, they were about as happy about our migration as JPP was. lol I was on the UK site for 2-3 years before the U.S. version shut down, but didn't post there often. Remember Marilyn "Moon Squid"? She went there after getting booted from Amazon U.S.

I'm not on Debate Politics; is it any good?

Yeah, we Americans really "lit them up" over there before Amazon shut them down too!
Don't recall Marilyn off hand.

DP is OK, but I don't post there too often. Mostly to "fire up" the anti-gun leftists there

Or COVID, these days.

Another reason people don't get the help they need is because of the stigma associated with mental illness. And that's another reason for both despising Toxic and reminding people that she was never a teacher, let alone a special ed one. Her constant insults based on mental illness, and personal attacks against fellow posters who have admitted to struggles with those issues, all scream "I'm a fraud."

Was your brother-in-law reluctant to be admitted to the care facility? That was one of the problems my cousin had with her brother. He was sure that they would kill him in there. It wasn't until he collapsed one day and had to be rushed to the hospital that she was *finally* able to get health care providers and social workers to step in and intervene. He had uncontrolled diabetes that caused the collapse. While in there, they removed a huge cancerous growth on his chest that he had been self-treating with vaseline, paper towels, foil, and duct tape for years. Yes, years. It had suppurated and just about killed him. He also lost a lot of his vision, his kidneys failed, and now he is on dialysis. The social workers and nurses were able to convince him that if he didn't go to the facility, that he would die.

I haven't seen any numbers, but have seen several reports the suicide rate is up.

Agreed about stigma. Reducing the stigma would be a crucial step in the right direction.

Yes, regarding my BIL. He doesn't want to take his meds. He was thrown out of several "open" facilities for escaping**.

As a general rule, it's irrational to expect rational behavior from irrational people. In short, if we are agreed that TOP has mental disorders hampering her behavior and happiness, then it's rational to expect her to act in an irrational manner....which includes all the things you mentioned.

Normal people have a range of behaviors from good to bad. Normal people are selfish assholes some of the time and truly selfless and noble some of the time. Mentally ill people have a narrower range of behaviors. It's not a matter of either one is or isn't but a matter of degree. Mentally ill people are incapable of the full range of normal human behavior. Telling a mentally ill person to act normal is like telling a drunk to sober up. They can't do it without help....and they aren't going to get it on this forum. ;)

**Meaning he walked outside the stated boundaries of the facility to panhandle for cigarette money. WTF? He's not only severely schizophrenic but has the mind of a 14 year old. These "experts" whining about his behavior were either incompetent or simply didn't want to put up with him. Probably both.

Ah. Gods love him. It's extremely difficult to get schizophrenic patients to accept medication because they see it as "poison." They also come to see their delusions (hearing voices, seeing things/ppl who aren't there) as comforting friends and don't want them taken away. My cousin was highly intelligent; he had graduated with a bachelors (in what, I've forgotten) before the symptoms began appearing. He held only a handful of menial jobs; he would be asked to leave when he would verbally assault ppl for allegedly laughing at him. His sister reports now that he has trouble operating a remote and using the smart phone that she got him. I wish the best for him and for your b.i.l. Cannot imagine living with a mind that doesn't allow you to function in the world with other people.

The laziest fucking state is Kentucky where over 60% of the population is on some type of welfare. They also voted for Trump by a margin of like 65% to about 30%. Same with every state that has majorities on welfare, they are trumplicans by a wide margin. The lazy fucking scumbags about which you speak all voted for the same asshole you did.

I didn't know that. Seems that Mitch McConnell didn't do a whole lot for his state over the last 35 years.

BTW,....Do tell us just exactly how classy it was for that absolute disgrace of a woman Owl to call another female in here a STUPID CUNT,...just the other day. Was that classy of her? Or did her mother fail her? Get real dude, you and everyone else in here KNOW she's a real piece of shit whether you admit it or not. She makes it THAT obvious.

Why is it bad for a woman to use the word when the men here use it on a regular basis? You guys always say women shouldn't expect special treatment because of their gender.
