Manufacturing Evidence

Hard labor, solitary confinement, ect.
Again, what if they already faced those things? What incentive do they have for not going that one step further?

(Of course this assumes that there would be a sudden rash of such attacks. I do not know if there have been in other places.)

It seems to leave it on the books for those specific circumstances may be an idea we might want to contemplate.

If someone is going to be executed why wouldn't they do that anyway?

Clearly, people suspected of horrific murders shouldn't be released on bail. If they're sufficiently contained they'd never have the opportunity. If they're already in prison for a murder, then how are they going to get out of it to kill witnesses and subjugate the jury?

There are already many people up for life without parole, and these crime sprees rarely happen as long as proper safety precautions are taken (I don't consider how they contained the man in Atlanta "proper safety precautions").
If we remove it from the books except in that circumstance then they would not be "executed" unless they took this extra step. I think it may be something we could use to disincentivize attacks, such as ones we have recently had in Denver, where they kill witnesses in order to make prosecution difficult.

Problem with your logic: in Denver they already had the death penalty and it happened anyway.

There has never been, to my knowledge, a rash of such killings reported in any jurisdiction that has abolished the death penalty. So this is just conjecturing without evidence to back it up.

Again, I think the death penalty should be abolished for all circumstances and without exception.

Again. If they weren't already facing death except in those circumstances I believe it would be an effective deterrent from escalation. Quit being so emotive and actually read what I post.

The scary part is that this is not an isolated incident. Such abuses are endemic to the justice system. Jurors take it at fact value that the evidence presented is correct and factual. Obviously that's not always the case and the scary part, as the OJ case demonstrated, if you don't have the money to pay for your own expert testimony and forensic investigations, you're fucked.

Yeah, you seen that Chappelle Show about him being on the jury (link below). It's funny to me, cause he does it from a black thing, but I would be almost the same without the racial prejudice. I can understand where he's coming from because in my view the burden of proof is a bit higher for a minority, but it is always high.

I hope some day they call me for jury duty though I doubt I will make it through.

I think the criminal injustice system is far more racially motivated than you believe .. and America's exploding prison system is testament to that truth.

The police, courts, public opinion, and criminal injustice system do not work in favor or equally for non-white Americans.

I teach that to my children.

You are most definitely right. But I highly doubt that spreading the injustice around is the solution. Quit making it about us (black people) vs the them (white people) and more about us vs the state. I am in agreement with you that minorities get the shaft far more often, but your rants tend to turn me off a bit.

We are ALL in jeopardy. Sure the minorities get it more, but don't think white folks can't get railroaded too.

Personally, I don't give a f!$& that Cory Maye is black. He got a raw deal. And he is my fellow. If they can do it to him, they can do it to me.

Why are they allowed contact with their gang?
They don't have to have contact with their gang. It isn't like they are tried in some secret kangaroo court and the gangs don't know about it. There is a consistent efforts by gangs currently to make every person fear "snitching". Hence "don't snitch" videos, etc. are made.

Pretending we live in a vacuum and these businesses are somehow different from the prohibition gangs of the early 20th is a bit stupid.

Think for gawds' sakes.

While I certainly appreciate your perspective, it's not my perspective. If you agree that minorities are getting the shaft .. but you don't act to address that injustice and are in fact turned off by my talking about it .. with all due respect, why would I want to make this about you? Why would I want to include you in my comments about a proven and factual injustice that you don't care about unless it includes white people?

I welcome the commradarie, action, and efforts of all people who ACT against this injustice, but if you see it as injustice that could effect whites as well, you shouldn't need an invitation from me to speak truth to it.

How much does it cost the American taxpayers to be the greatest prison nation in human history?

Actually minorities get special consideration in hiring.
We're all prisoners here. your race agenda will destroy our country.

OH I wouldn't argue that for a second. I'm just saying that the racism occured at a level above these two cretins. Prosecuting these two clowns (and they eminently deserve to be prosecuted) is only treating the symptom and not the problem.

That I would agree with.
