Most soldiers are there because they couldn't get a job in America! or like my nephews, couldn't afford an Ivy League education, but were given one by going to West Point or other military colleges for free! or just five years of your life doing whatever is asked of you. Two of my nephews are headed for Korea and one to Afghanistan.

But being YOUR nephews, they just might have their own greedy reason for joining rather than the desire to just serve their country as patriots....

I don't know of any real way to prove or disprove it...
I would tend to agree if you are talking about career army personnel. I am not sure that there is as clear cut an advantage for the republicans in first term enlistees... and, from my own experience, I found the army and the marine corps to be, on average, more conservative than the navy or air force... but that is solely anecdotal and individual personal experience.

I raised my hand when LBJ was president and I retired when Clinton was president... I liked and disliked presidents from both parties fairly equally.

Inane. He and they knew the turkey was fake, he had fun with them. Hugs, etc.

You just want to pretend that somehow Obama's response was "better" because he even "breathe's better" and his breath is sweet and minty, you can smell the manly vibes, etc. The amount of worship for this man from some people that I used to believe were smarter than that is astounding to me. People who always respected others who weren't always apologists for Bush are suddenly, and in every way possible, apologists for this man.

Not really, they are all thankful and after going through West Point, if you weren't patriotic when you went in, you sure the hell are when you come out!

Listen, while I do belive they treated Obama better, my point was they will treat any CIC well. Bush and his minions were WRONG when they claimed his warm reception equated to political support.

I think the only difference is in how it was carried by the media and your own filter and it shows evidence of exactly what I stated before.

I don't care what "Bush and his minions" said, and said even back when people were saying stuff like that that the troops will cheer the CIC. Period.

The receptions were much the same, only portrayed differently by the storytellers, and shaded by your own bias.
 
I suspect that almost any member of any branch of the Armed Services would cheer the current president, no matter who he is. My question is did they vote for him? To me this would be a true show of support.......or love as it is put in this thread.

I don't have the breakdown of votes from Iraq but I do have some close pre-election polls from the military. I would maintain that what Grind says is mostly true....even for soldiers serving in Iraq.

The "dark skinned" pigmentation I can't answer to. Most of my black friends were like BAC in that they didn't vote for Obama because of his liberalness. But my friends are not representative of society......or the military. :)
 
This liberal media bullshit is just a conservatives way of avoiding reality and personal responsability.... They are all against me! Its the media's fault! Waaaaaa! Waaaaaaa!
