Yes we agree that it has been proven that he didn't serve in Vietnam.
begs a question you aren't answering.
why do they call it "unproven" then?

Fact-checking Big Money. https://www.jacksonville.com/article/20120928/NEWS/801246493 The fact-checking organizations including Snopes, do very good jobs However rightys long ago learned that attacking sources works on their followers. It is all a form of swift boating.

Because it isn't clear what he was implying. Notice how the MSM have been making the same claim for years then retracted that claim, sometimes even without the correction? Why?
"in theater"
are you a veteran? thats a very specific claim
Why do I have to be a veteran to know what "in theater" means? Anyway I cannot join because i am deaf.
what?
seriously though, I kid, the point being when you say "in theater" you are claiming to be a war vet. while he said "times" at times there are numerous claims where he states "vietnam veteran" and clearly solicited donations in violation of federal stolen valor laws with this.
its not unproven, snopes is wrong. but would NEVER get this type of wrong on a right winger.
Actually when he said "in theater", he was referencing to the box on his discharge paper.
From Snopes:
In those many hours of interviews and videos, Phillips has made a number of unclear or ambiguous statements about his service that allow for a variety of interpretations (or misinterpretations). In the first Facebook video linked above, for example, he stated — in reference to a form related to his discharge — that he left the service in peacetime and “what my box says is that I was ‘in theater.'” He didn’t say what theater, though, nor did he directly declare that he was in fact ‘in theater’ during his time in the Marines. He cryptically observed something about a “box” on his discharge form, and it was unclear whether he garbled whatever he was trying to say, was being deceptive, or was pointing out a mistake.
right, here is an example dd214, which box was he referring to?
I don't know which box.
Question: how can one be "in theater (of war)" during peacetime?
not on your "discharge papers" its not something or a word used on such.
not on your "discharge papers" its not something or a word used on such.
Hence we have no idea what he was talking about. His officer could have written it down by mistake or something. I wonder if the forms were different back then?
Do you notice that he said "peacetime"?
no we do, he lied, stole valor and gained financial gain from said stolen valor.
it was proven he lied yet snopes who is a propaganda wing of the left lied .
dispute any of these facts.
Well that's your opinion and I respect it.![]()
I appreciate that, but it's fact and I challenge you or anyone to offer counter evidence to said claims.
stolen valor is a big deal to veterans. and he clearly stole valor. its not even a right vs left thing, Im not even a right winger, but I digress. the fact he openly stole valor and the "news" industry looked the other way is a big deal to many of us.
But he DID serve in the military. Besides stolen valor is a federal offense.
yes. he did.
but he did not serve in vietnam and soliciting donations as he did based on him being a war veteran is explicitly a federal offense.
So why isn't he in Leavenworth yet?
