It was never a good idea to come here for "discussion."
I come here to vent; it's cathartic.
It is, isn't it? It's also fun to make twisted balloon animals out of BullshitBoob.

So far they have not outlawed eating or drinking while in line to vote! SO you can still bring your own water.
BUT THE NEW VOTING LAW THAT IS TO WORRY ABOUT IS THE NEW LAW THAT PERMITS THE PARTY IN POWER TO CHANGE OUT THE OFFICIALS IN CHARGE OF Verifying and certifying the vote counts- WITH THEIR OWN PEOPLE WHEN THE VOTE COUNTS ARE NOT GOING IN THE DIRECTION THEY DESIRE.
It's setup now, that the PARTY IN POWER (REPUBLICANS) can just change the vote counts and throw out any of their competition's votes they need to win in every minority district they want now! YOU KNOW- THE WAY DONALD TRUMP TRIED TO BRIBE THE GEORGIA STATE ATTORNEY TO DO FOR HIM IN THE 2020 ELECTION.
In other words the REPUBLICAN ELECTION OFFICIALS in the state of Georgia can manipulate the votes in any district they want now so that they guarantee themselves a win in every district in every future election- local or presidential!
They made it legal for the Republican ELECTION OFFICIALS to actually cheat to win in all future elections!
Under this new law- THE DEMOCRATS WILL NEVER WIN ANYTHING EVER AGAIN IN GEORGIA!
Hello T. A. Gardner,
Voting is more important than entertainment. It should be easy to vote. We want more people voting. The more the better. Republican efforts to suppress voting are a disgrace. It is a glaring sign that Republicans have lost the confidence of the people that they have sunk this low to even be arguing this.
I want people who are eligible and willing to vote being the ones doing it. I dislike the idea of automatic registration for that reason. Those that don't want to participate shouldn't have to, just as those too lazy to put in more than minimal effort shouldn't be coddled.
..
I expect that the ACLU will make short work of this scheme.
Re: the bolded: is it "coddling" people to reduce a waiting time by several hours (if not more), or give them water when they're waiting that long?
Are people "too lazy" if they're not willing to wait in line for 7 hours, just to cast a vote?
That's not a problem due to voter registration or voter ID but one of availability of polling stations and rate of voting. One obvious method is to allow voters to fill out their ballot ahead of time, then present their ID and such at the polling station and place their pre-marked ballot in the system. Much better than mail-in voting. At least you'd know who was actually voting.

That will still require waiting in long lines. You really DO want voter suppression, don't you? That's only because you think that YOURS will never be obstructed.
Amazing that this crap never happened or never demanded when bloated cross wearing white guys tried to vote

The same goes for voter ID. If voting's that important to you, you'll get ID. If it isn't then don't whine when you can't vote because you were unwilling to put in any effort before hand to ensure your eligibility.
Forced participation was what they had in places like the Soviet Union where many party operatives offered free bottles of vodka as an incentive to vote. That's why the Communists made the day after elections a national holiday in the Soviet Union by the way...
Automatic registration does not force you to vote.

No, it isn't and waiting in long lines isn't a necessity. More polling locations and doing away with most mail-in balloting would be a solution so long as the ballots could be received ahead of time by voters to be filled out before delivery. Cutting the process time from say 10 to 15 minutes per in-person voter to say 2-5 would go a long way to eliminate queuing times.
It's really a simple industrial engineering issue. Of course, Progressives and the Left have no clue about such things...
We did, and that was after dropping it off in the township's lockbox. PRS is correct -- you would have to be quite a mastermind to duplicate ballots and signatures well enough to pull it off. If someone is going to go to all the trouble (and expense) to duplicate the printed ballot including matching the typeface and paper weight, wouldn't it make more sense to just counterfeit money instead? Less chance of getting caught, for sure.
Politalker is also right. The (R)s know that the only way they can win any more is to make voting as onerous and difficult as possible. This will end up biting them in the ass.
