Real billionaires don't take their rusty broken jets to the paint shop

Maybe Trump should wait to see what going to happen with the NY AG before making big plans.

Said the guy who could be bought and sold repeatedly by DJT like a cheap sack of radishes at a road side farmers market .

trump is not as rich as he wants people to believe. he can barely afford a used private jet. Very wealthy people buy new private jets. he is unable to even keep that private jet flight worthy.

What he likes to do is use a lot of gold plating. That looks expensive, but is actually quite cheap. he uses a thin coating of gold, so it wears down quickly, which makes it look even cheaper to those who know.

trump really is a poor man's image of a rich man, but not a rich man's image of a rich man. he inherited a lot of money, and has failed to do much with it.

You do have a LINK for this don't you ??? Please post it so we can all peruse it

Not after they have spent so much to get the interior the way they want it. This thread is a good example of what a diseased mind looks like.

One engine has no take-offs left....it can not be certified.....Trump had been looking for a new engine that has at least one take-off left so that he could fly it to his library. Maybe he changed his mind.

Airplanes are like cars, but even worse. Where a car is made out of steal, which does not change shape much, the aluminum in an airplane expands and contracts every time it flies. This creates little cracks that get bigger in time. It is possible to drive a car that has been driven for a hundred years, but not a plane.

But in a social context a plane is like a car. There are billions of people on earth that have no hope of ever owning either. They would love to own a 30 year old car, even though Americans would rather own a new car. Sure, I would love to own trump's broken down old plane, if it worked, but that does not change that it is a broken down plane owned by a man who can barely afford it.

As we look at its history, just think of a car with this history. It was manufactured 30 years ago, in 1991, and is a gas guzzler (technically jet fuel guzzler). It was originally bought by Sterling Airlines, but later sold to a Mexican airline. The Mexican airline sold it on, when far more fuel efficient planes became available. Paul Allen owned it for a while, but he had a rule against owning any plane over 20 years old. He sold it to trump, who could barely afford it. Imagine a 30 year old car, on its fourth owner, and you have what people who can afford a private jet think of trump's jet.

But it gets worse. One of the jet engines has completely failed, and been removed. It is hard to find a one time use replacement for such an old jet engine, and it is difficult to repair such a broken down jet in place. They are trying to find a one time use engine, just to get the plane to someplace it can be fixed up. The insurance company will not pay trump for the plane, because being very old and out of repair is not an accidental loss.

But trump cultists will point out that it has gold plating, isn't that impressive? Electroplating gold leaves an extremely thin layer of gold on something. It can be done so thin that it is only a few atoms thick. Literally the amount of gold used is worthless. It is cheaper than gold colored paint. The problem is that it wears off the edges, so quickly goes from just gaudy, to gaudy and cheap looking.

Someone who has money would just spend the million or so less to get a new interior the way they want it. They would not want a 30 year old plane, and an interior that has sat there getting mildewy for years.

trump is desperately trying to get it to a major repair facility Lake Charles, Louisiana. he wants to own a major business jet again, but really does not have the money to buy a new one. So he is desperately trying to get an old one working.

You post and the accompanying link have absolutely nothing to do with the OP

I suggest you re-peruse the OP ... and you might come across this ...

"Many people have asked about the beautiful Boeing 757 that became so iconic during the Trump rallies," Trump said. "It is now being fully restored and updated and will be put back into service sometime prior to the end of the year."

Also ... in the OP ... is discussed the 'gold plating' ... but you obviously missed that

Your response in itself is accurate but TOTALLY missing the OP.

O Well

"Many people have asked about the beautiful Boeing 757 that became so iconic during the Trump rallies," Trump said. "It is now being fully restored and updated and will be put back into service sometime prior to the end of the year."

trump always starts saying "many people" when he is going to lie. It is his tell. It is not being fully restored, because they cannot even move it to Louisiana to be restored. There is a problem that it is in very bad shape, and that it is very old so getting parts for it is difficult, but there is also the problem trump is in bad shape financially.

Also ... in the OP ... is discussed the 'gold plating' ... but you obviously missed that

Actually, the original post did not discuss the thin gold plating on the plane. I added that detail, and gave a link. It is gaudy and cheap, just like trump.

Your response in itself is accurate but TOTALLY missing the OP.

The point of the OP can best be summed up through the title, "Real billionaires don't take their rusty broken jets to the paint shop."

Well, we already saw what happened to the Trump Train!
