I doubt it. There will be some political blow back as most Americans will be horrified by this murders. A few extremist will applaud it and it will force the Republican party to denounce those "end's justify the means" fanatics in the party but after that it will be business as usuall.

In other threads on other topics you refused to judge someone because you insisted they were innocent until proven guilty. This man was found not guilty of breaking any laws and you call the man who murdered him in a church a patriot? He is a murderer. A patriot does not walk into a church and shoot an unarmed man in cold blood.

Save your breath. You're talking to a fanatic. It will change nothing. I'm no fan of Dr. Tiller either. There are times where late term abortions are medically indicated and Tiller certainly pushed that envelope but that in no way justifies his murder.

I agree that some of his procedures were horrific. But he was tried and found not guilty in a court of law. Shooting him down is murder.

Hey pea brain...HOW did "liberals" use the court system to usurp the Constitution? Did they prevent the prosecution from having legal representation?

The prosecution (District Attorney) had the full power of government to wield...AND the DA is an anti-abortion "crusader", hardly an objective official.

This is just one boulder in an avalanche of boulders falling on hapless right-wing ideology .. which is even being further marginalized by by the Republican Party. Unless the Republican Party distances itself from this neanderthal thought, it will further dissolve along with it.

Although there will always be a minority of neanderthals who have not yet become extinct, the demise of such braindead thought was always inevitable.

Where are new recruits going to come from?

If the guy they caught is the shooter he will never have another day of freedom in his life. I think he is a perfect candidate for a needle in his arm and save us all the cost of feeding him.

Oh I agree that it's another brick in the wall. I also think that we should consider investigating if right wing propaganda is influencing these wackos to commit these crimes and if they are to hold them appropriately accountable.

I think the real test will come when Mr. Franken is seated and after the 2010 election when Republicans lose more seats. It may even take a few years after that of sitting on the side lines before the Republican party makes the painfull changes to move back more towards the center. If they do not. They risk irrelevency and being usurped by an alternative political party. Time will tell.

Right now Republicans are stiking to the party line that Obama and Congressional Democrats are far left liberals and that mainstream America will reject them. That just shows how divorced from reality they are. It will take at least another election cycle, maybe two, before you will see any significant changes in the party leadership.

I can't say that as I'm not an advocate of the death penalty but by all means, let justice be served by the rule of law in a court of law. A right that the perpetrator denied Dr. Tiller. The perpetrator assigned them selves as Judge, Jury and executionar. It don't get more premeditated then that.

Actually, I advocate protection of the innocent and punishment of killers. It's really as simple as all that. :)
