And this is a vp we are supposed to respect

And the Trumpkins' heads will explode. I'd just sit back and laugh. :rofl2:

You are wrong on that. Oh sure,...some of them would go goofy. But the vast majority would be rubbing their hands together and practically salivating at the thought. Pretty sure we will all get a courtside seat to witnessing just that happening in the near future...;)

Since not one of you has ever served ... having an understanding of the significance of this insane photo will always be beyond your cognitive skills.

Not only is it a megainsult to those who served, but also to the massive number of Vietnamese who fled.

This photo is making ho chi mihn squirt in his grave ... it is a propaganda coup like no other.

But you dimlibs will rejoice in the ho's epic FAILURE.

I served for three years. Take your self righteousness and shove it up your ass. Trump-icans like yourself passing themselves off as loyal Americans are a disease.

I see none of the left tards touched my Vietnam war post. They never do. FACTS are like kryptonite to the average D.....

Hmmm ... three years ... most periods are for four years ... how did you manage only three ???

Not true at all. South Vietnam was a Member of Nato's counterpart Seato.... South East Asian Treaty Organization. This is the reason why South Korea sent ROK Marines to fight by our side, Australia sent combat troops as well, and Japan sent hospital ships. They were attacked by the North,...we were duly sworn to defend them as a member. No different than if the old west Germany would have been attacked by the Soviets during the cold war. WHY people dont know this FACT is beyond me. Just common stupidity I suppose...

The basic stupidity of the Vietnam War was and is the failure to realize it was always a war for self determination. It was that when the French fought there and it was that when we thought there. The ordinary Vietnamese did not see himself as South or North. He hadn't a clue about the "South East Asian Treaty Organization." He wanted foreigners out of his land and it was not a land he saw as divided between North and South. It took journalists on the ground to discover that fundamental truth. The American government never did learn it and neither have Americans like yourself.

So then you are saying we should NOT have honored our commitment to SEATO? Wonder what kind of horrendous signal that would have sent to the NATO nations? To the Soviets and the Warsaw Pact countries? Especially at THAT time in history. Not good. BIG PICTURE is always important....

Enlistment options are two, three and four or more years. You should learn about the American military before sounding off about it.

The "big picture" from the American perspective is that the Vietnam War brought only death and misery to The United States.
