The 17th ruined the Senate.
What is the philosophical argument for letting state legislatures pick Senators? Because it seems like your argument is "because I want it that way", which is very insolent and childish.
State legislatures or governors picked the senators to represent THE STATE, not the people
The State is the People, and the People are the State. The State would be nothing without the People, but the People could exist without the State.
By going to a direct popular vote for senators, the Senate is now a carbon copy of the House only with longer terms in office.
So what? You still haven't given an adequate reason why you want to abolish a Constitutional Amendment.
"Just because" isn't a reason. You need to do better.
