Where were all these loud, angry, outraged people when George W. Bush foolishly led us into a lost war based on lies, a war that has cost almost $7 billion and ruined the lives of thousands?
Probably they were glued to the same FAUX network propagandists who are now filling their heads with lies and misinformation about health care reform.
The overwhelming majority of Americans are anything but happy with the status quo, even if they have health care.
47 million don't. How happy are they?
This system is not working.
People with drug coverage plans get angry when their co-pay has doubled, their prescription is not in the plan's formulary, or the plan requires you to mail away for your prescriptions, or the brand-name co-pay is $50 while the generic is $20.
The complaints go on and on.
Each year employers have to negotiate a new contract with their plan provider. The rate increases average 18 percent and that is taken out of the employee's weekly pay. The cost for each family plan for one year is equivalent to the cost of a new car. Oh, and the plans reserve the right to change coverage and limits whenever they want, which they do often.
Doctors are leaving networks because of decreased payment levels.
When the health care system can treat all patients fairly and economically, then we will be happy.
We have been told for decades that the private-sector system will correct all the problems with the health care system.
Let's ask our representatives to work with President Obama to build the greatest health care coverage system we've ever known.
