I have a son that is on a 'cush', big money/do little, Job in Washington DC. It's for the Metro so everyone is Drug Tested. Even though this is a highly sought after position, they can't find Locals (DC is a 'Legal weed' city) to fill the slots. They have to get 'Out-of-Staters' to fill the Positions. The Locals fail the Drug Tests. So, *somebody* is going to be flying Planes, it just won't be the Dope Smokers.
That's the problem with marijuana legalization. There are lots of jobs where drug testing is mandatory. Legal marijuana is likely to lead to increased casual use and that in turn to more people being found ineligible for those jobs. Truck drivers (well anyone with a CDL) would be a perfect example of this.
It’s legal in AK.
Too expensive, does next to nothing for me.
Rather have a nice glass of Argentinian Malbec.
Our infant leaders cant/wont think that far.
.
A study published by the British Medical Journal has corroborated earlier findings that link academic aptitude with a proclivity for cannabis.
The research, by James Williams and Gareth Hagger-Johnson of University College London, found that 'high ability' students were more likely to have smoked cannabis in their teenage years compared to their lower ability contemporaries.

Maybe autonomous*Trucks and Planes are in the Future?

Societies need people who are willing and able to work.
We are destroying that, this is suicide.
Dude! Anyone who wanted weed for the last 50 years could easily find it!
Only thing that changes with legalization is paying taxes!
It's legal here in Michigan too. We can smoke it, eat it, grow it, sell it (with proper licensing). DIY is always the best choice if you can.
Yes from my experience black market weed has much more of an effect. I just feel a little out of control when I get to that point. Two glasses of wine, three beers and I’m good. If I want more I just wait an hour or so.
These politicians are even more stupid than I thought. Don't they realize that once people get turned on they're never, ever, going to listen to them again ?
Haw, haw, haw, haw..............................haw, haw, haw...........................haw, haw..................................haw.
It's not that simple you simpleton. If it's legal, then using it is legal. The ramifications of that in terms of legal risk to employers and the public becomes very real. The biggest problem is that THC remains in your body up to 30 days after use.
So, if you are in an auto accident and used marijuana a week ago you still could be potentially libel under current laws in many states for it as a DUI / DWI. The same thing is very real for larger corporations with deep pockets. Would you want your workers to potentially open you up to lawsuits over their marijuana use?
A war on communicable diseases not a useless war on drugs! Cannabis should be as easily taxable as alcohol and tobacco!"The bill—sponsored by Sens. Dianne Feinstein (D-CA), Brian Schatz (D-HI) and Chuck Grassley (R-IA)—is titled the Cannabidiol and Marihuana Research Expansion Act. It cleared the full chamber unanimously, without debate."

Of course this may require a Joint Session in Congress!
