Will Ted Kennedys legacy be health care reform?

Senator Ted Kennedy's dream of health care for all American residents will happen this year, after Congress reconvenes in September.

The senior US Senator, Robert Byrd (D-WV) wants to designate the Senate's health care legislation in Kennedy's honor.

How fitting it is that the great Ted Kennedy passed the torch to Barack Obama to celebrate a new American dynasty at last year's convention.

be still my heart.....perhaps it would be worth having a socialist health care system, if only to honor a man who did so much to advance the cause of distilling good whiskey and killing young women while driving under the influence......

Teddy's legacy will be sucking off the taxpayers tit for 50 years and never doing anything else with his pathetic life.

One additional piece of his legacy is the fact that while he was fighting against our right to own guns, his own bodyguard was caught with an unregistered uzi.

Judging by the responses, I'd say his legacy will largely depend on which lever you pull in November, and whether you listen to AM or FM.

obviously.....if that weren't true Ted wouldn't have had 47 years in Congress.....but at least we've been able to properly categorize this as the "how can we exploit Kennedy's death to promote health care" thread.....

He's being buried amongst the other "National Heroes" in Arlington ceremony. I wonder how the Kopechne's feel about that?
