Several officers were hanging around outside the building listening to the mayhem inside. But you're right. Had they gone in to save the kids they might have gotten killed themselves so they made the choice any sensible on duty officer would make, yes?

and yet the rest of the accounts indicate that he shot two officers, killed the students, then barricaded himself in a classroom.....there is no evidence that anyone was killed from that point until the police entered and there was a shootout which ended with the shooter's death....

so despite the claims of this thread, no students died while the police set up their entry......

Gotten themselves killed or got everyone inside killed. It's easy to judge by hindsight, but the reality is that they didn't know what they were facing including whether or not the killer had a bomb or it was a militia mas murder team..

Had they rushed in there and the officers triggered a bomb or a mass killing of hostages, would the same people condemning them now condemn them again in that situation?
