Should illegal immigrants get healthcare?

Now this is not about the current bill, because it clearly does not provide for illegals to get healthcare but..

Lets consider this.

We have tuns of Illegals in this country, they provide cheep labor for American business doing jobs no American wants. They pick 90% of our fruits and vegatables for one thing. Big Business does not want to fix the illegal immigration problem because they are making money and we are getting cheeper goods.

So they are here and we are not going to do anything about it...

When they get sick what do they do, they go to the hospital. Once at the hospital they are treated, and who do you belives pays for that? The taxpayers and the insurance companies (cost shifting). THat cost is passed along to others health care, that makes insurance more expensive and less people can afford health care!

Lets provide basic emergency healthcare for illegals, not only is it the right thing to do... its better for our pockets and our economy.

Your premise is wrong. We are going to send them home and build a wall. WHether they get care in mexico or not is beyond the purview of the U.S. gov.

Wouldn't it be a better idea to build the wall first, using illegal immigrant labour, before sending them home?

It's all about the cost savings.

We should open immigration so that people can come here without having to pay somebody to sneak them in the back of trucks, house them in substandard housing, treat them like slaves and roaches and pay them squat.

We should make sure we know who is here, and treat them like the people they are.

We can do all that while closing the borders to illegal entry.

They already get emergency care. Everyone in the US has a right to emergency care regardless of legal status or ability to pay.

Many illegals try to avoid it, though, to avoid raising eyebrows, which shows the human cost of the current system.

Er, don't machines pretty much take care of cotton picking these days?

Yes, I used cotton for obvious immages it conjurs, but your correct. Around here illegals pick corn, oranges, strawberries and harvest lots of sugger cane.

I agree, but there is too much money to be made keeping it like it is.

I don't see a wall being built, first most of the farmers need access to the river on their property, second its a bit expensive, but the idea to stop illegal entry is a good one.

First it will end illegal human trafficking that happens over our border, second it can ensure that people who enter come through the front door and allow us to know who is here from other nations.

IMO, I'd open more legal entry, allow them to return and apply showing they have a job and the capability to take care of themselves and let them come back and work it legally. Growth needs an inflow of new employees, and our birth rates are simply not enough to do what we need.

We absolutely should not. This position is espoused by corporatists seeking to lower wages by manipulating the labor market. This open borders position is part of the war on the middle class.

I agree they already get ER care, but in the most expensive way possable. Set up a fund to give it to them in an upfront way.

And stop raising eyebrows at treatment because many avoid it untill it will be even more costly.

I once saw a guy get run over, I called 911 ASAP. I ran over to him, he was on the ground but not hurt as badly as I had imagined. I told him to sit tight, I had already called 911. He immideatly got up, cussed, and limped away out of signt. He was a hispanic guy who did not speak English.

I saw a bank robber trip and fall once. He had just robbed a bank and he was hurting so I called the police and an ambulence and told the nice robber to sit tight... help was on the way. But he just got angry and limped away

I have no reason to belive this guy I saw had harmed anyone or stolen anything.

Rubbish, the "corporatists" push the status quo with an occasional amnesty so they can continue to pay them like they are slaves. They care nothing about the idea that these people are trafficked, women are often raped and forced to be prostitutes.
