Trump supporters, fair question...

Classified materials legislation doesn't apply to the POTUS as President has plenary power to declassify anything he wants, Clinton didn't and she mishandled 30,000 government documents (many of which were classified) documents and she never got raided,

At the most you issue a subpoena, but in reality it should have played out in court but the FBI was after Spygate Documents that Trump ordered declassified and released and the fascist Gestapo DOJ/FBI has refused to do for two years. It's time for this cold civil war to go hot.

Where does it say that the president has that power? It says "whoever."

§2071. Concealment, removal, or mutilation generally

(a) Whoever willfully and unlawfully conceals, removes, mutilates, obliterates, or destroys, or attempts to do so, or, with intent to do so takes and carries away any record, proceeding, map, book, paper, document, or other thing, filed or deposited with any clerk or officer of any court of the United States, or in any public office, or with any judicial or public officer of the United States, shall be fined under this title or imprisoned not more than three years, or both.

(b) Whoever, having the custody of any such record, proceeding, map, book, document, paper, or other thing, willfully and unlawfully conceals, removes, mutilates, obliterates, falsifies, or destroys the same, shall be fined under this title or imprisoned not more than three years, or both; and shall forfeit his office and be disqualified from holding any office under the United States. As used in this subsection, the term "office" does not include the office held by any person as a retired officer of the Armed Forces of the United States.

1) If Trump took classified documents to his basement in Mar-A-Lago is it not fair to investigate him?

2) If Trump lied about having more documents after having returned some of them, is it not fair to investigate that?

3) If the FBI had knowledge that Trump had documents belonging to the government, that he would not return, is it not fair to get a warrant and take them?

Is the query only limited to "Trump supporters" ?

1) If Trump took classified documents to his basement in Mar-A-Lago is it not fair to investigate him?

It may be, but how that investigation is handled is the question. Would a subpoena suffice? What about just asking him?

2) If Trump lied about having more documents after having returned some of them, is it not fair to investigate that?

This is a leading question in the form of a fallacy of exclusive premises. How would you know if Trump lied? How would someone know for sure what documents he had?

3) If the FBI had knowledge that Trump had documents belonging to the government, that he would not return, is it not fair to get a warrant and take them?

Less than a month before this, the FBI had been given access to the location(s) at Mar-a-Lago where the documents in question were stored, accompanied by persons from the national archives, and by the FBI's own admission cooperated fully letting the national archives take the documents they wanted. So, the counter question is, Given several previous visits to Trump's home and being given access, along with Trump personally cooperating during those visits, why the sudden need to stage a massive, armed raid on his home?

as has been done with previous POTUS, they could just ask for them back. as you noted, they asked before and got the 15 boxes they wanted.

so why throw a flashy expensive circus (and go sniffing around Meliana's underwear drawer) ?

They got 15 boxes and yet did not recieve everything. Thus why they got 12 boxes in this raid. Oh, and they discovered in June, while investigators were there, that he was fucking literally storing these classified documents in a fucking basement storage unit WITHOUT A MOTHERFUCKING LOCK ON IT.

Wowzers.

Is that ever a characterization.

40 + FBI agents armed with automatic rifles, submachineguns, and other firearms? A boat off in the boat channel behind the residence equipped with a machinegun? The Agents mostly wearing body armor? Dozens of vehicles, including some with armor? How would you characterize it?

Trump isn't known for respecting or submitting to subpoenas.

What about just asking him?
They did. For a year. They managed to get some boxes back (containing classified materials and damaged and destroyed documents). They know they didn't get everything back and have been trying for months to do so. In June some investigators went to the resort and were allowed to inspect some more boxes of documents, and discovered they were stored where those otehr classified boxes were stored, and that the storage place in the basement had no lock on it. That means likely criminal charges, and potentially Espionage Act violations.

This is a leading question in the form of a fallacy of exclusive premises. How would you know if Trump lied? How would someone know for sure what documents he had?
Because they know what was missing.

You make it sound like Waco.

Give me a break. It was a SEARCH. Trump isn't above the law.

Maybe you guys will have a bit more understanding of BLM now that a simple search has driven you all to madness.

they askede for fifteen and got them. as they continued onboarding administaration records they found others missing.
so why did they just ask for those like in the spring ?
HRC had her data on a computer unprotected from the internet (so they got hacked). Try getting into some basement in Mar-a-Lago to russle through boxes of papers. If you are lucky you will end up in jail as likely you end p as gator chow.

Well, it pretty much was if you leave out the gunfire and then the massive attack on the compound... At Waco, a mass of ATF agents showed up at a compound where the occupants were known to be anti-government and rather than trying to knock on a door and ask, they immediately attacked the compound. The people inside fought back. The ATF needlessly escalated the situation. If all they wanted was Koresh, they could have arrested him when he went into Waco on one of his frequent trips.

What the ATF wanted, wasn't an arrest. They wanted a publicity stunt. That's why the press and media were invited along. The FBI and DoJ are doing the same thing now.

Trump's an American citizen, and he's subject to its laws. Classified documents are no joke, and have tremendous bearing on U.S. national security. The authorities have to pass a high bar to search someone's home.

Maybe, just maybe, we should see how it plays out. I wonder what people who are using terms like "Gestapo tactics" will say if Trump compromised our national security, and broke the law.

it's terrorism against the american people.

a former president has never been treated this way.

you folks have sealed your fate.

There has never been a former president who has been a fucking traitor and an insurrectionist, AssWipe. Of course they are treating this disgusting piece of shit differently. He is different. He is a traitor and a thief.

When are you people going to wake up and stand for America...rather than that dictator wanna-be?

When are you people going to stop aiding and abetting a traitor and an insurrectionist.

Trump is the only proven liar AND traitor in this discussion.

Someday, the spell will break.

I hope it does.

Their attitude toward Trump, and the incredible damage he has done to our nation, is one of the most horrible things to ever happen during my lifetime.
