Of course not. Neither does Brittney Griner. Have some compassion. Whatever her offense, 10 years of hard labor is certainly not proportional.

I apologize for cursing earlier in this thread. The OP genuinely upset me.

I get that's the poster's purpose on this board, and the fact that I'm admitting I'm upset about it is a "win." But we just need to be better. Griner is a basketball player, and she had a small amount of CBD or whatever to help her sleep. 10 years of hard labor, in a place where there is an oppressive regime? No good American should support that, or rejoice in it. I'd hate to imagine any of her loved ones or people who care about her coming across a sentiment like the OP.

We need to find our humanity again. That might be a bigger threat to our future than anything else.

In her case, she got paid quite a bit more money playing for Russia, than she did in the WNBA. It was a business decision that ended up costing her years of her life.

But...if she had been playing for Russia for that long, then she had to know the repercussions of getting caught with drugs.

Nobody should support Putin here.

But she was very foolish.
