Trump Makes It Official...

Well, Trump has officially announced his candidacy, erasing any doubt if it ever really existed.

My concern is that his campaign will further fracture the GOP. He'll now go from being critical of our left-wing leaders, and he'll start attacking those within his own party, which will only hurt the conservative movement.

I fully expect DeSantis to run, and I expect him to conduct himself like the responsible leader he has proven himself to be during the campaign, and he'll do so without the level of personal attacks Trump is surely poised to make towards DeSantis...

Good. The GOP needs to be destroyed. It was good once. Now it's a shit hole in a vortex.

And DeSantis conducting himself? :rofl2:

I didn't watch the entire trump speech but if any of you saw any of it, don't you agree he was totally "phoning it in"? It seriously did not look like his heart (speaking metaphoricly, since he doesn't have one) was in it.

Just watched it. You're actually right. Someone is holding the leash. Hmm I wonder who it could be.

I think it's donnie, himself. He feels he has to run because it might shield him from his legal trouble. All the legal experts say that's just wrong - it won't help him. Part of it, also, I feel is that he cannot accept being a loser. He needs a "win" and the adulation he basks in at his Nazi hate rallies.

Finally, it's a way to raise money. Even if he drops out of the race or loses - do you think he'll return is supporters' cash? Ha!

You'd better find a replacement for Klepto Joe real soon- or your lives are going to be oppressed by this asshole;

Ron DeSantis’ Law Banning Criticism of Israel Has Huge First Amendment Implications

DeSantisIsrael-1200x630.jpg

Liberty conservatives looking to Florida governor Ron DeSantis as a possible heir to the MAGA movement may want to take a harder look at his support for the First Amendment while in office.

DeSantis championed and signed a bill that essentially bans criticism of Israel.

2019’s HB 741 bans any speech in the public school systems of Florida deemed to be “making mendacious, dehumanizing, demonizing, or stereotypical allegations” about Jews or “the power of Jews as a collective,” such as “the myth about a world Jewish conspiracy or of Jews controlling the media, economy, government or other societal institutions.”

As governor, DeSantis resisted imposing restrictions during the COVID-19 pandemic in Florida, including face mask mandates, stay-at-home orders, and vaccination requirements.

DeSantis signed a 2013 pledge sponsored by Americans for Prosperity vowing to vote against any global warming legislation that would raise taxes.

Following the U.S. Supreme Court's Dobbs decision, which returned abortion rights back to the states, DeSantis pledged to "expand pro-life protections". ( Desantis ) ' does not make exceptions for rape, human trafficking, incest, or mental health.[198]'

DeSantis opposes federal education programs such as No Child Left Behind Act and Race to the Top,

DeSantis has called himself a "Teddy Roosevelt conservationist". During his 2018 gubernatorial run, he said that he did not deny climate change's existence, but did not want to be labeled a "climate change believer",[238] adding, "I think we contribute to changes in the environment, but I'm not in the pews of the global warming left."

DeSantis opposes gun control.

desantis will now be sitting the fuck down.

DeSantis is the man. Watch for the alt lefties heads exploding with two front runners smothering their thought patterns.

After all these years of licking Trumps balls, its now DeSantis who is the man? How many years before you throw this man under the bus, like you did for Bush, McCain, Romney etc...

It isn’t, the only reason he’s doing it is he thinks it will keep him out of the court room, it won’t.

I already thought Biden was going to run.

He just finished the most successful midterm of any president in decades.

he lost the House, he has a stupid economy, he wants to bankrupt the oil industry........I know you thought he would run.......the question is whether you want him to......

you got Trump mixed up with McConnell. McConnell just scolded Republicans .McConnell went after his own Senate candidates, and pulled crucial funding

Trump and Desantis can duke it out -McConnell has got to go

I don't have Trump confused with anyone.

I won't disagree that McConnell has to go, but Trump as already started going after the big dogs in the GOP, and there's just no way that ends well.

If Trump insists on attacking DeSantis, there's no shortage of voters right in Florida who'll hold it against him in the General.

It's tough to win the Presidency without Florida...

Well, at least they're trying to keep up with democrats...

And DeSantis conducting himself? :rofl2:

Absolutely.

I won't burden you with asking for an explanation as to why you believe otherwsie. Being a lefty, that's not something anyone should ever expect from you...

Just for arguments sake, if he were to win the election, though, would that shield him from his legal trouble? Would holding the elective office keep him out of court?

Personally, I don't think it would. It sure the Hell didn't help Agnew.

Part of it, also, I feel is that he cannot accept being a loser.

IO absolutely agree with this. He grew up in privilege. I don't fault him for that alone, but it certainly had an impact on how he conducts himself and how he views his place in the world. In his view, it's more important for him to win than it is to do good for our country...

He needs a "win" and the adulation he basks in at his Nazi hate rallies.

Comments like that are ignorant and they make you look stupid.

Besides, it's difficult to call him Nazi when Biden did this:

Now, I don't believe Biden had that all done intentionally to make him look like a Nazi. But, the fact that it could've been a coincidence is actually more concerning...

Finally, it's a way to raise money. Even if he drops out of the race or loses - do you think he'll return is supporters' cash? Ha!

Has there ever been an instance in the history of Presidential elections that a candidate who lost gave the money back to his donors?

Did Hillary do it? No. Gore? No. Dukakis? No. Mondale? No. Carter? No.

Being critical of Trump for not doing it is hypocritical...

Only fascists would recognize fascist in that. It's a mirror. Tread carefully if I was you.

I agree that his running probably won't protect him from prosecution. Garland came out about a month ago and said as much.

I stand behind the rest of what I said. I'm sorry you disagree. I think it's ignorant and naive of you to believe trump doesn't love the adulation he receives at his Nazi hate rallies. He's an attention whore. Maybe someday you're figure that out.
