My Oath of Enlistment did not end with "So help me God". It's not required.

So, how would someone violate the UCMJ when they are no longer subject to the UCMJ?

Case in point: Article 117 of the UCMJ deal with provoking speeches and gestures. Now, civilians enjoy the right to a freedom of speech. They can say "Fuck Biden" or Fuck Trump all they want. Someone not subject to the UCMJ (like a Veteran) can't do that. Going with what you want, you could be charged for calling someone a fucking asshole. Is that what you want? You claim to be retired (not that there's a single reason to believe that), so would you want your right to call the President an asshole taken away from you? Because that's exactly what you're advocating...
