The Greentards screw Californians again

The latest Greentard project that was just approved by the Joke administration is the removal of 4 dams in Northern California. These dams supply water to tens of thousands of residents and supply power equivalent to that necessary for 70,000 homes. The intent is to try--try--and restore the rivers they are on so Salmon can thrive.

To Save Salmon, U.S. Approves Largest Dam Removal in History

The removal will cost about $450 million, $200 million of it paid for by utility customers using the power the dams produce through a surcharge on their bill. Taxpayers will foot the other $250 million.

The best investment California can make. The salmon industry is an important part of the Golden State’s economy. With a yearly economic impact to the tune of $900 million, according to the California Department of Fish and Wildlife, a collapse of the species would not only mean further danger to the already-fragile environment, but a hit to the state’s bottom line as well. With the western drought the worst that its been in a millennium, that is putting all of that in real danger.

Sorry Charlie, but some things in life are more important than you IRRESPONSIBLE SELFISH TARDS not wanting to pay taxes.

Here's the thing, TAG.

I like their 55 electoral votes going blue. Absolutely love that, although they should have more.
Their "Greentards," as you so crudely call them, aren't hurting me in Boston.
Our few dams are staying right where they are.

They are planning the same insanity for Washington State, removing dams that serve humanity for the fish they claim....though the evidence that this will help the fish is slim.

Removal won't make a nickel's worth of difference. They are all on federal land and have ZERO impact on the fishing industry in California. But they will exacerbate the lack of sufficient generation of electrical power in the state causing prices to rise more while feeding into more blackouts and brownouts.

I'm sorry, but you don't seem to me like you are an expert economist or have any appreciation for saving our natural habitat and food supply!

You just sound like a POLITICAL HACK AND IRRESPONSIBLE CHEAPSKATE to me!

The way you become responsible is tell us about the bill, and what is at stake, the pros and cons, while offering your own personal opinion, and leave the discussion open for everyone who may want to offer their own opinions, given all the facts!

You'll never be successful or credible by insulting people's intelligence first, leaving out all the important facts that you don't want them to hear, and then expecting some kind of consensus! [Geeko Sportivo]

The report addresses the proposed removal of the Ice Harbor, Little Goose, Lower Lower Granite, and Lower Monumental dams on the lower Snake River to aid in salmon recovery efforts.

The problem addressed is not the removal of the dams, it’s the question of how to replace the 3,033 megawatts capacity for power generation that the dams provide. This accounts for roughly 10 percent of the Evergreen State’s total generation capacity.

According to the report, replacing that capacity could cost up to $34.3 billion, a figure that is on the high end of dam power generation replacement estimates. The additional costs account for the needed upgrades to electrical transmission and storage capacity inherent with the intermittent nature of replacing hydroelectric generation with renewables such as wind and solar.

In the replace-with-renewables scenario, the report models out Washingtonians’ electrical pricing going from 7th lowest to 18th highest by state over the time period of 2020 to 2028.

Sadly our leaders dont give a fuck about us.

Note: Given the source this is likely a very lowball estimate, and also does not take into consider that they would almost certainly be replacing very reliable generation with intermittent generation.

Democrats love blackouts.

What the "Save the Planet" types will not admit is that their intermittent generation + batteries plan can not work.....I mean it is 100% certain that it will not work with current technology.

Actually, as a retired Navy Chief I made a whole career out of insulting people' intelligence first, you braindead piece of buttfuck residue!

So long as they do as they are told, if they dont then they are not black anymore, they are white supremacists.

Not so much white supremicists. Just welfare collecting assholes than cannot stand on their own two feet. Trust me, 90% of African Americans actually do stand on their own and despise welfare collecting others.
