I dont think it's buck passing at all. It's a clear statement that the govt shall not establish a religion like Henry did. Calling America a Christian nation doesn't rise to establishment of a religion.

Right christians believe the God of the bible created all men therefore "their" creator is the God of the bible. It's a common linguistic use of the word "their" it's not suggesting they have "their" own creator.

They did not write... "Christian Men are created equal, that we are endowed by Jesus, with certain unalienable Rights." They did not even write "We are created equal, we are endowed by our creator..."

"ALL men are created by THEIR creator"

At the very least, your argument leads not to a "Christian Nation" but an Abrahamic Nation (Christians, Jews and Muslims)

The result of this being a Christian nation is that men were made free and equal based on God given rights. No religion is established based in that principle. Would you prefer islam where non believers convert or are killed?

The Declaration of Independence says that "Truth to be SELF EVIDENT."

If it is self evidence what does it have to do with God?

IS the Muslim God not the same God as the Christian God?
