Even when the 1994 AWB was in place, the average law abiding American had a shitload of weapons to choose from at their local gun shop. What was the "punishment"? That you couldn't have the next shiny thing that the gun manufacturers trotted out?
Over the years, gunners have defaulted to the "educate the anti-gun idiot" mode during a debate, showing how the civilian AR-15 types are "really" not as efficient as say (fill in the blank with weapon of choice). So people buying it were just suckers for advertising. Then they would contradict themselves in exchanges with each other as to how versatile the weapon is, it's attachments, etc., etc. Of course, NO discussion as to effect the ammo for this weapon has on an animal carcass, much less a human body.
So tell us all Dutch, just how did the 1994 AWB "punish" Americans, as opposed to the banned weapons formerly on the list now laying waste to people because it's the overall weapon of choice for mass shooters? We'll wait.
