What holding a gun to someone's neck means

Our nation has a gun violence problem, and the Republican solution is more gun violence.

Well, no, Walter.

Our nation has a problem with far left, Democratic Socialist D/A's and prosecutors who will not prosecute violent thugs. No bail, de-fund the police, release violent criminals...that's what the far left loons do, Walter.

The guns just sit quietly until a thug picks one up and commits a crime.

Eighty (80) million gun owners did not use their guns to commit a crime today...or yesterday...Walter.

Well, no, Walter. Our nation has a problem with far left, Democratic Socialist D/A's and prosecutors who will not prosecute violent thugs.

The USA is one of the most conservative first world countries, and yet we have the highest gun violence rate in the first world. So I stick by my first statement, we have a gun violence problem.

Besides, one of the big non-prosecuting problems is right wing prosecutors who refuse to prosecute right wing gun owners, because they would lose their guns.

Where is your link, Walter?

Walt, something that most of you leftists don't seem to understand, that the majority of criminals clearly do, is that the threat of deadly force and the means to employ it are necessary in order to survive in a world that has people who look at others as a means to an end. Thieves, Drug dealers, Gangbangers, rapists, murderers, all those people who consider themselves 'worthy' of abusing and controlling others who just want to be left alone to provide for their family.......all of those criminals employ the threat of deadly force and the means to employ it to take what they want from others. The ONLY way to stop them from doing that is having the means to employ deadly force against them.

Given that reality, where is the rationale coming from that makes you believe disarming law abiding people will also disarm criminals who don't care about the law, only taking what they can from others?

Oh...indeed!

We also have more inmates in prison than any other country. But yeah, "liberal prosecutors" are soft on crime. :awesome:

Perhaps when Walter has a knife to his throat, he can tell the thug that "America has a GUN violence problem."

Should work.

America does not have nearly enough inmates in prison.

Liberal prosecutors are jello soft on crime.

Federal agents who carry a gun must go through safety training, tests, and continual training.
1. it's not always successful, so there is a failure rate.
2. do you understand the constitutional reasoning on WHY government agents get that training and testing?

So if there is not 100% success rate, you will reject a 99% success rate, or even a 90% success rate? I would be happy with a 50% success rate. If we could reduce America's huge homicide rate by 50%, I would be overjoyed.
yes, I reject anything less than a 100% success rate. The reasoning behind that is very simple. A majority of you, left AND right, get all waffly when you compare government agents mistakes to civilian mistakes. You LOVE that government agents get all this training and testing, yet when they make mistakes, you excuse it under things like the 'good faith' doctrine or accept the 'split second decisions' excuse......but the minute a civilian is perceived to make a mistake, you usually arrest them, charge them, try them....forcing them to PROVE their innocence..................would you allow the leeway you give government agents to civilians if they submitted to the same training and testing that you require of government agents?

It is 1 or 2% of the people shot are intruders. That means that there are 98% or 99% people who belong in the house that are shot. It is like not wearing your seatbelt because there is a 1% chance you will be thrown to safety.

A better way to look at it is 98% to 99% of the people shot with household guns are people who belong in the household. It incredibly increases the chances of harm to the family.

If you own a pool you have a 99% higher chance of drowning in it then if you didn’t own it.

Your stats are intended to mislead.

How about you tell us how many people are shot with their guns compared to how many are owned by households?

You won’t because that number is about a tenth of one percent and that ruins your argument

by making it more difficult for law abiding people to obtain guns for self defense, the below is what you'll be inflicting on women...

Institutionalize the crazies roaming America's cities.

Prosecute violent criminals and isolate them from the rest of Americans who don't commit crimes and only want to be left alone.

Deport G. Soros.

Watch crime go back to normal.

It's way too easy for mentally unstable people in this country to acquire a cache of firearms, but the gun barrel strokers refuse to do anything effective to keep guns out of the hands of the kooks

if you plan to shoot somebody, he/she should feel the impact of the bullet before he/she even knows that you have a gun.

Threatening somebody with a gun makes absolutely no sense.

there is only one way to keep guns out of the hands of mentally unstable people, but the loonie loving lefties refuse to do anything about it.

If they were institutionalized, they couldn't get guns.

Democrats don't want them institutionalized.

Biden Advises Shooting Shotgun Through Door

Vice President Joe Biden told Field & Stream magazine in an interview published Monday, "[if] you want to keep someone away from your house, just fire the shotgun through the door."
Earlier this month, Biden told an interviewer that he had advised his wife, Jill, "if there's ever a problem, just walk out on the balcony here, walk out and put that double-barrel shotgun and fire two blasts outside the house."
According to Delaware attorneys contacted by U.S. News, in Biden's home state it is only legal to use deadly force if there is reason to fear imminent loss of life. Shooting a gun in the air could result in felony reckless endangering and aggravated menacing charges, in addition to misdemeanor charges, the lawyers said.

Well, I don't think any of the responsible gun owners on this site (or any other, for that matter) believe Biden's "suggestion" of shooting a shotgun through a door has even a hint of competency.

NEVER pull the trigger unless you are sure of your target and what's behind it. That's common sense, which this president is inordinately lacking.

Walter, do you own a gun?

If so, the next time a thug with a knife...or gun, confronts you, give him your gun and tell him that there are too many guns in America.

It's way too easy for mentally unstable people in this country to OP acquire a cache of firearms, but the gun barrel strokers refuse to do anything effective to keep guns out of the hands of the kooks

There are 430 million guns in the US so preventing anyone from getting one at this point is simply irrational
