Witness says Jordan Neely started making death threats against passengers

There was absolutely no "vigilante justice"... how absurd to even suggest that... even worse to thank the suggestion...

Was he waving a weapon around? Was he touching other riders?

You're jumping the gun without any facts, no surprise there. You've proven over and over that you have no compassion for the mentally ill.

What is the "point of violence"? And at what point during this individual's raging tirade was there ever a chance to offer this person food? Most ridiculous post I've seen in a long time.... Excuse me sir...can I offer you a granola bar? Seriously? Many not having compassion for the mentally ill...including this individual's family... prior to this incident is the problem... He should have been in jail or a facility getting treatment...or at home, getting help from his family....

Screaming people is a common occurrence in NYC. Erratic behavior by homeless or other people in big cities is a common occurrence. Restraining someone who is violent is allowed, but not to the point of their death. I don’t believe Neely had reached the point of violence.

Did anyone offer him food?

Exactly. And why put him in a chokehold until he died? Why not just call 911 and restrain him another way? Not that I know for certain he needed to be restrained.

black, homeless, autistic guy with a record of violent assault and battery who was stopped in the act of doing it again.......this is Bragg's fault, not the guy under arrest.......

Is restraining a child abductor vigilante justice?
At the time, they didn't know he had a record...they just knew there was a situation that was out of control...When someone says screams they're not afraid to die, that needs to be handled...
No one is celebrating the death of this man...but it's impossible to tell what might have happened if people hadn't stepped up...He had hurt many others before....It's very possible he would have done so again...

Actually, it’s not. Two different situations.

you are right.....Babbit had no arrest record and wasn't threatening anyone......she also didn't die from a choke hold......she died from a bullet in the throat, fired without warning......her killer was a coward, Neely's was a hero.......lots of differences.....

I’m pretty sure Marines with his extensive training are taught the purpose of the particular hold he used on Neely. If he received training, he had to know when to let go or use another hold.

Facts??? Like what?

Every time a black guy gets killed, cons always say he should have listened to the cops, not run away, keep hands up, kneel on the ground etc. Why aren't you saying that about Babbitt? She and the others were kicking the door and breaking windows despite the cops telling them to stop. Why is this acceptable to you?

Why are passengers and witnesses stepping up to thank Daniel Penny and others who helped? They were there, and terrified.... If this is a "normal" incident on the subway, every car needs an officer assigned at all times....

How interesting they portray him as a Michael Jackson impersonator and then use a picture that is 10 years old?

Exactly, Penny had no prior knowledge of Neely, even then he didn’t deserve to die.

He didn't need to know his past all he needed to know was that he was making threats at the present time

If someone is screaming threats at Biden or Pelosi you damn well know they would be body slammed and restrained... If they died during the process nothing much would be made about it

Lesson is don't make threats

He didn't need to know his past all he needed to know was that he was making threats at the present time
Correct...violent threats and throwing garbage.... It is Very likely that Daniel Penny's intent was to subdue him so that he didn't harm others...or himself...

Evidently you haven't left your hovel in doinktown , things like this are not uncommon in a city of 9 million people on any given day

The actions of a man with a gun running through a mall parking lot are also unknown

This man had no weapons and was not threatening the riders individually. He was mentally ill and ranting. Penny could have dialed 911 and had cops waiting at the next stop but he didn't, and now he's facing charges.
