What is woke about the lil mermaid?

And yet you have no answer.

Why do you complain about strawberry icecream or movies made to a minority group of buyers by corporations who choose to try and capture that money as well, as the money they already get from the majority purchase?

Why is that a problem for you? Why do you think the world should revolve around only what you what you want to consume? And then get all offended if company ALSO decides to make stuff others want to consume, who are not you?

Your entire argument is 'me... me... me... they should only pander to me... anything else is wrong'.

Try to get this through your silly little tranny skull, little black mermaid...

I responded to a question that was asked in the OP of this thread.

I expressed my opinions on the subject just like everyone else, as we are all free to do.

A few overly sensitive little girly men like yourself, don't approve of my opinions, but I express them anyway.

You are the one who is wetting your little tranny panties and coming emotionally unglued, not me.

And FYI, you come across like an emotional teenage girl.

Don't like my opinion?

Put me on ignore.

Now go away.

You bore me.

What an outstanding post and movie contrast/comparison as well. Thank you. I can guarantee you that Toxic and pEarl and the other whackjobs here whining about the new version have not seen it. They just heard about it from the Reichwing racist talking heads who told them it was an outrageous woke pandering thing and totally completely ruined and Disney should be bankrupted and out of business so vote for DeSantis.

The movie did not go direct to streaming, so the only way to see it is to buy a ticket. So even if they say they've seen it, that would be an admission that they paid the evil 'woke' Disney. Quite a conflict. I saw it in the theater because my wife wanted to take the grandkids. But I would have seen it at some point. The live action movies have in general not been great, but I LOVED Mulan live version. For me, so much of my love of the original was about the music, and IMHO, the musical numbers are spectacular and exceed those in the original. So I loved this one too. There are times when I feel like movies attempt to pander, like the quick lesbian kiss in one of the new star wars movies. It was pointless, and looked like pandering. But no biggie. This one? They cast an up and coming star as the lead. There was nothing that felt force or contrived about that choice.

Insightful post, great point about Avatar.

Avatar in my view was a barely shaded commentary about what Europeans did to the Indigenous Americans. Is that "woke", or were the Trumppers too stupid to see what they were doing?

Woke and too stupid.

Notice idea that we are one with everything regarding environmentalism.

If so, I can understand why he won’t admit it.

She's a she, and you are right... she is a racist born and bred. You should have seen the nasty bitchy negative comments about Mrs. Obama when Barack was POTUS. Haven't seen a single one so far about Mrs. Biden, but then she's not black.

Sad

When I see videos of little girls excited to see the movie, it warms my heart! One group of girls had their mermaid costumes on, it was precious.

And it's sad that so many little girls are going to get a racist message instead getting to see the movie. 'You've got to be carefully taught'. Rogers and Hammerstein, woke all the way back in 1958! They would lose their minds over that song today.

It would have never even occurred to me to ask this question until I saw the trajectory of this thread,

But can I get a show of hands of those who would get enraged if a future reboot of Peter Pan has a brown fairy Tinkerbell?
