Speaker of the House - ”we don’t live in a democracy.”

Well, it's a two step process and you successfully completed the first step. Congratulations. It's the second step, however, you and your friends need to climb over. It's the step that makes our constitution different from China's. A step too high for your friends, but maybe you already know our Constitution creates a national government elected by the whole citizenry and China's does not.
As I said the American Constitution makes us different. But nice try.

the constitution is what differs

duh!

Good. So to complete that thought, if you can handle it, the constitution differs in that it establishes our republic as a representative democracy. The Speaker of the House is incorrect, therefore, when he treats the terms as mutually exclusive when they are
complimentary, one describing the other.

it differs in many ways. Like it spelled out how we only voted for the peoples house - and the senate was appointed, and not a vote of the people

the founders did not respect democracy and you can see it in their writings, and how they established governments

What is the most concerning is that the Republicans are trying to program people to not believing that democracy is a an essential element to our government? Gee, I wonder why?

The vegetation in my backyard is a tree. It’s also oak.

So Jarod do we live in a Democracy or a Democratic Republic? I live in a Two Story Home not a Single Story Home. Both describe a home but only one describes the type of home that I live in.

Who appointed the senators? And how did they get into that office? How are senators selected now? We’re talking about how America “is” a democracy.

Thomas Jefferson himself said it was a democracy

Why are you people so desperate to discredit Democratic norms? Why are you against democracy?

But you see they are both homes. A Republic can be, and an America’s case is a democracy.

easy. because you shit stains think having the majority means you can do whatever you want. things like taking 90% of someone's wealth because you losers band together and punish those that aren't losers

why are you so eager to pretend our history is different than it actually is

the founders set it up where we didn't vote for senators or presidents. Yet you want us to believe they had high views of democracy?

Who has taken 90% of anyone’s wealth?

I think, in fact am pretty sure, that the real problem is revering the feckless founders.

Americans are too reticent to recognize just how badly they fucked up back then.

For the one millionth time this isnt a democracy shithead. Do you vote on every matter of govt business?

God you are such a simpleton.

It is no wonder the right is doomed, with such base level stupidity so convinced they are correct.
