The thanks are the best way to identify patterns of sympathizers of illegal activities for law enforcement observers. Tracking supporters of white supremacist/white nationalist terrorist groups is easier when they identify themselves even if it's just a series of "thanks" on a political message board. They don't need to actually post anything in public. It just identifies people for monitoring of PMs, emails, off-JPP social media and phone contacts.
