Prominent Republicans dramatically shifted their position on the importance of the evidence provided by former FBI informant Alexander Smirnov after he was charged with lying to the agency and manufacturing falsified records last week.


On Wednesday, House Oversight Committee Chairman James Comer, a Republican who is leading the impeachment investigation, played down Smirnov's importance claiming he "wasn't an important part of this investigation because I didn't even know who he was" during an interview with Newsmax. :laugh:


The compilation also included a clip of Representative Jim Jordan, chair of the House Judiciary Committee, claiming Smirnov was "an incredible source" for the FBI. However on Wednesday, Jordan insisted Smirnov's indictment, and his alleged connection to Russian intelligence officers, "doesn't change the fundamental facts" about the Biden impeachment bid.:palm:

Comer and Jordan will lie their asses off. They were on TV shows and Trumpian sites claiming this guy was the "smoking gun". He was the reason they had Biden and son dead to rights. Now he is not Important. Bullshit, They had nothing and pinned it all on this Russian. Now it is gone and they were caught lying.

It matters little, their goal was never to actually impeach Biden, if it happened fine, but not their main purpose was to generate enough innuendo to portray Joe Biden as a criminal for their media and Trump to echo.

They’ll continue onward, MaraLago demands it, embarrassing or not, besides , it is all the GOP House actually seems capable of doing
 
Buck ,a Repub on the committee, says when they got the information on the Russian they were told his testimony was questionable and could not be relied upon. But Comer and Johnson ran with it full speed. They owe the Bidens a heartfelt public apology.

For the MAGA morons, there is no damage control necessary. For sane people, including numerous GOP House members who will now refuse to vote in favor of impeachment, this is comedy gold.

Biden's open border policy encourages illegals to come here and that means Joe the Pedophile Veggie is violating section 1324 title 8. The statute says he could be LEGALLY EXECUTED for this crime. That certainly qualifies as a high crime.

But stupid repubs won't say it. Both parties are collecting huge bribes from mexico to let the illegals invade.
 
It started with "we have recordings of Biden." Then they admitted they did not have recordings, but they had a witness that had heard the recordings. Then it became clear the witness had lied, that the recordings were impossible, so what do they have now?

Agreed the Trumpers are very good at wasting taxpayer time and money. This tit-for-tat bullshit has been a D.C. pattern since the 90s except that it's gotten worse every election.

There is no level of evidence that will stop the impeachment. It needs to go on because trump orders it.

I think it will work out well for Democrats. Republicans are refusing to govern, and instead putting on a dog and pony show that is disappointing everyone.
