You know, he's gone a long way to become a leader of this country and passed so much history in just a year or two. I mean, it's something we don't even think about. I was watching, I said, "Wait a minute. He's an African-American guy in front of a bunch of other white people, and there he is, President of the United States, and we've completely forgotten that tonight. Completely forgotten it."

I see the Preparation H lip balm was handed out to all on MSNBC, I imagine a MSNBC circle jerk followed soon afterwards. The only thing I saw was the biggest failure in American history, and that is Obama.
 
Yeah this was the stupidest thing said last night. When he said it I thought, that's gonna get some play tomorrow.
 
It was a stupid comment, however, last night I personally thought... wow, the first SOTU address by a black president and noone even blinked... To me that was a sign we have come a long way.

that said, lets stop the false outrage in it's tracks. All he was meaning to say is that race is becoming less and less of an issue, and instead of thinking of obama as "the black president" he can just be "the president"

Chris Matthews is an overblown, egotistical, self-serving libtard of the highest regard and he thinks because he's so pasty white in contrast, he will be given high regard for saying the unthinkable. THAT and knowing since he's in the tank for this administration he's untouchable.

When Lott was trying to compliment an old 100 year old colleague on his birthday and made a stupid statement, was he given any slack..hardly.., even after apologizing over and over...?.

Matthews made a racist statement and there is no other way of spinning it....
Its akin to saying Obama is too poised and polished to be black....
Same shit with Reid...he got a pass for his racism too....
