I agree that social trans issues and athletic trans issues are very different.

Given that it's fairly recent, the NCAA and the Olympic committee are working toward getting it right.

Giving trans people the same rights as other people to exist peacefully is only right, as it doesn't take away the rights of anyone else.

Giving men the right to compete against women denies the rights of the latter.


Lest we forget, there is a big difference between gender and sex.

And your numbers mean little. High schools have plenty of trans athletes on the rise.

Why don't you believe that they should just compete against men, while retaining their right to declare themselves women?

It isn’t the same issue. My point is that there are fewer than a thousand trans athletes in high school sports.and this issue being ‘investigated’ by Congress is a joke. They have no role. This is just another issue to appease the snowflakes who don’t care about he athletes. They hate trans people and want to make sure everyone knows that’. The issue here isn’t about making things fair for athletes. It’s about the toxic cruelty and hatred directed at trans people. It’s disgusting. This isn’t a new problem but no one cared until it became fashionable on the right. Just look at the posts here. That’s exactly what’s going on and it needs to stop.

Oh. I agree that the motivation behind Congressional Republicans is nothing but bullshit.
The issue, however, is serious and slowly being fixed.

I conflated this thread with an earlier one about trans in female boxing.
My move was to leave this one alone, but I had a totally unnecessary exchange with Domer instead.

It's so simple girls compete on girl's teams ...boys compete on boy's teams.... like Special or Paralympics there will eventually be translympics... but right now stay in your lane...

We disagree on how serious it is. And we disagree on how ‘unfair’ it is. High schools actually recruit athletes and many private schools will leave everyone else playing for second place. Is that ‘unfair’. Of course it is. When did Congress address THAT issue of unfairness? I think we both know the answer. Studies have demonstrated that the advantage trope is a myth. Colleges and high school districts will figure it out. It just isn’t a topic worthy of discussion and certainly an utter waste of tax dollars. All to gin up more hatred for trans people. THAT is the issue.

Just because you can't beat a woman does not mean the majority of biological men could not beat the majority of biological women in athletic competition. Tax dollars? I guess Title 9 is a waste of tax dollars. :palm:

Ask yourself two questions. 1.Why aren't trans men athletes dominating in men's sports? 2.Why is it that only in women's sports trans athletes have won national championships.

If trans people want to wear dresses or try to pee standing up more power to them. If they want to compete in sports do it with their own biological sexes.

Don't know if you've ever watched South Park but they do a pretty good job of skewering everything. To your point of trans boxers, it's included in this clip from a 2019 episode.

I won’t say it’s all about winning but it’s about the “opportunity” to win. Without the “opportunity” to win why else compete in a contest?

Using the logic you present there might as well not be any male sports separate from female sports. We'll just lump them all together and the ladies can just be happy with competing with no opportunity to win.

Also using that logic that male swimmer who is allowed to compete with females should have been happy to “just compete” with those of his own gender. If he wasn’t happy about not winning he could have trained harder and gotten better.
