Don't ask, don't tell

They are denied the freedom to 'flaunt' their sexuality in a public way while in the service of their country....
they are denied the freedom to act in a way "unbecoming a member of US Armed Services"......the same as any soldier, sailor, etc.....

lol..."unbecoming of a soldier"

I bet in bravos mind he sees some guy in leather assless chaps running around with a machine gun on the battle field

You don't seem to understand the issue here, do you..?

No wonder you're a liberal Dem...now pay attention....

Homo's will still be getting discharged for the act of sodomy...according to the UCMJ, its unnatural carnal copulation....Any person found guilty of sodomy shall by punished as a court-martial may direct.”

Changing the policy of not asking if they a homo's or them not telling if they are homo's will not change the rules of the UCMJ....

As if that cannot be addressed in legislation?

Even if they did not address it, it still changes the rules. You will not be thrown out for saying you are a homo, but would be if you engaged in sodomy.

The article defines oral and anal sex as sodomy. It does not differentiate between homo or hetero.

And there are people calling for it's repeal.

How ironic.

Child molestation is not chosen by all parties to the act.

Your response has no relevance to whether gays should be able to serve openly in the military or why your theory, that it is a chosen trait, is of any relevance. You failed to advance your argument or further discussion.

What does this have to do with the Catholic Priesthood?

Your gay, or as on TV you claim to be reformed gay yet your against gays in the military. Sounds like a sofa genaral draft dodger to me.
It sounds like you don't have the courage to enter into a legitimate debate or to even admit when you've been bested. :)

Thanks for demonstrating my earlier assertion about you, coward.

Nothing, that was a joke.

You said "homosexuality is chosen."
I said "so, religion is chosen."
You, incorrectly, said "child molestation is chosen."

Religion + Child Molestation = Easy dig at the priesthood

The choice of religion or sexual preference is not the same as "choosing" to force sex on a child.

But it does me no injury for my neighbor to say there are twenty gods or no God. It neither picks my pocket nor breaks my leg. - Thomas Jefferson

But it does me no injury for my neighbor to say he likes dicks, chicks, both or neither. It neither picks my pocket nor breaks my leg.

You said "Try to further the conversation with an actual response." then brought in the subject of Catholic Priests, now religion. Again, how ironic.

The "point" is inane and unthinking. Apparently you believe that any openly-gay person in the military is going to be loud, proud and in your face about their sexuality. You've stated that because they're gay they might act in a way "unbecoming a member, etc." Why would that apply to gays only?

If recruits are taught a certain code of behaviour during their training, it doesn't follow that only gays would flout the code.

FYI, Joint Chiefs of Staff Chairman Admiral Mike Mullen has spoken out that DADT should be repealed. A big high-five to him for acknowledging that discrimination against gays is 100% wrong.

"No matter how I look at the issue," Chairman of the Joint Chiefs Adm. Mike Mullen said, "I cannot escape being troubled by the fact that we have in place a policy which forces young men and women to lie about who they are in order to defend their fellow citizens."
This was, oddly enough, one of the largest reasons I thought (and still think) Clinton was a huge wimp who could not stand up for a single conviction of his own and was the "poll" President. Later evidence was obvious, IMO but this move cemented him as weak in my mind.

IMO he was the CIC, he should have simply given the order and told any General/Admiral that objected to shut up.

Reread the thread. I raised religion before you started evading. I pointed out that it is chosen. You then compared religion/sexuality to child molestation. That comparison is faulty, for reasons I have pointed out, and does not further discussion.
